Richard Sherman Tells MMQB There's 'Very Little Chance' Seahawks Trade Him
Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman played down speculation the team could trade him this offseason.
"Very little chance it happens, but both sides are listening," Sherman said in a text message to The MMQB's Albert Breer. "I honestly don't have much more to say about it than what I've already said. We have a great relationship. … There is a lot of love and respect. There is no bad blood."
The Ringer's Michael Lombardi reported on The NFL Show in March the Seahawks would consider dealing Sherman for the right offer. General manager John Schneider confirmed the rumors in an interview on ESPN 710 Seattle (via the Seattle Times' Bob Condotta).

"What you've seen lately in the news is real," Schneider said. "That's on both sides."
Like Sherman, though, Schneider expressed skepticism that Seattle would trade the three-time All-Pro.
ESPN's Andrew Brandt thought being honest about the trade rumors was the smart approach for Sherman and Schneider:
Sherman is coming off his fourth straight Pro Bowl season despite the fact he played through an MCL injury. He finished with 58 combined tackles and four interceptions.
The 29-year-old has two more years remaining on his current contract. According to Over the Cap, he'll earn $11.4 million in guaranteed money for the 2017 season.
