Carmelo Anthony Talks Expectations for Knicks' Exit Meeting with Phil Jackson
The relationship between Phil Jackson and Carmelo Anthony has apparently reached its breaking point.
The New York Knicks team president will once again host exit meetings with all his players after the regular season on April 12, but the one with Anthony could get sour.
"The chips will be on the table in that meeting," the All-Star said, per Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News.
While Anthony is under contract through at least next season, if not 2018-19 with an early termination option, his time with the Knicks could be coming to an end.
"The time I'm out there on the court, I'm going to play basketball. It's the game I've always had fun and enjoyed," the 32-year-old said. "Although it hasn't been as fun as I would've wanted it to be. Try to find the joy in playing the game again."
Anthony has been with the Knicks for parts of seven seasons, but the organization has won just a single playoff series in that stretch. This year will be the fourth straight of missing the postseason; the team is 29-48.
Jackson joined the New York's front office in March 2014.
