Liverpool Transfer News: Luis Muriel Interest Reported, Latest Reds Rumours
Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a move for Sampdoria striker Luis Muriel as they look to add greater firepower to their attack.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb's Raffaella Bon, the Reds are the latest club to be linked with the Colombian—who could be available for €23 million (£19.8 million)—after reported interest from Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, Inter Milan, AS Roma and Napoli.
Muriel, 25, has netted 10 goals and provided five assists this season in 29 Serie A appearances, per WhoScored.com.

As well as being an accomplished striker, Muriel can also operate as a No. 10, so he could well be a good fit in manager Jurgen Klopp's fluid attacking system alongside the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

He is not the most prolific goalscorer—2016-17 is only the second season of his career in which he has reached double figures for league goals—but he is a creative forward, able to provide for his team-mates as well as score himself.
Per Squawka, he has created 44 chances in Serie A this season, a decent return given Sampdoria are sitting ninth in the Italian top flight.
In a Liverpool team bursting with creative quality, Muriel could be an effective attacking addition.
The Reds need greater depth in attack as their lack of back-up has been exposed in the second half of the 2016-17 season.
When Mane was away at the Africa Cup of Nations in January, Liverpool struggled:
And Firmino and Coutinho's variable form in 2017 has led to some mixed results.
Liverpool rely upon those three players too heavily, and more cover is needed, especially as the Reds are likely to be in Europe next season.
The addition of a player like Muriel would give Klopp different options in attack and allow the German to rotate more and rest his key players.
The Reds will have to decide, though, whether the Colombia international is worth the reported £19.8 million fee and has the quality to thrive in the Premier League.
