WWE WrestleMania 2017: Match Card, Potential Spoilers, Predictions and More

Ryan DilbertApr 1, 2017

WWE WrestleMania 33 will be packed tight with in-ring thrillers and memorable drama between the ropes.

Fans may have envisioned a different card beforehand, one where AJ Styles didn't face a non-wrestler in his '40s or where a past-his-prime Goldberg didn't enter as Raw's top champion, but The Show of Shows will quiet its doubters. A number of great matches will take place at Sunday's pay-per-view.

Undertaker will experience a renaissance against Roman Reigns. Styles and Shane McMahon will outdo expectations. Kevin Owens, Bray Wyatt and Baron Corbin are all poised to have career-changing WrestleMania moments.

The New Day is set to host it all as the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida, welcomes WWE's biggest show of the year.

Which Superstars will walk out as victors? Who may pop in unannounced? Read on for a full preview of The Ultimate Thrill Ride where we dig into those questions ahead of Sunday's PPV.

Potential Spoilers

Matt and Jeff Hardy may be among the surprise guests at WrestleMania.

After contract negotiations with Impact Wrestling fell apart, the brothers are reportedly talking to WWE about coming back to the company. Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet wrote: "New contract offers have officially been extended to Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy by WWE—and all signs point to an inevitable return."

Could that happen as soon as WrestleMania? The Raw Tag Team Championships ladder match would be an enticing place to throw them in as a last-minute addition.

Shelton Benjamin could make an appearance too.

The former intercontinental champion was supposed to join the SmackDown brand last year but suffered a shoulder injury. Benjamin, though, revealed via Twitter on Thursday that he's healthy again:

Chris Jericho, meanwhile, appears to be on the way out.

Marc Middleton of Wrestling Inc noted: "Jericho is currently scheduled to go on tour with his band Fozzy after WrestleMania 33. While Jericho will be gone for the month of May, he is being advertised to wrestle at June WWE live events."

That could signal a loss for him at WrestleMania. If he's not going to be around, it makes sense for him to drop the United States Championship to Kevin Owens.

The well-hyped mixed tag team match is suddenly facing a potential roadblock. Nikki Bella revealed on her YouTube channel that she's been dealing with more neck pain:

She noted that she suffered a sprain and had doctors look at it. Bella has dealt with neck issues in the past and fought through them.

This latest news may mean she takes it easy at WrestleMania or, if the situation worsens, that WWE will have to pull her off the card.

Friends No More

Owens and Jericho went from the best of friends to the bitterest of enemies when KO attacked the U.S. champ during his Festival of Friendship in February. That assault revealed a merciless side of Owens, leaving the sarcastic jokester version of himself behind.

Jericho will seek revenge Sunday; Owens will look to claim the U.S. title.

The chemistry between these two men, Owens' big-match ability and Jericho's veteran prowess are poised to add up to a show-stealer. This bout will be brimming with emotion. And you have to imagine there will be a chip on The Prizefighter's shoulder after WWE chose to push him aside to crown Goldberg at Fastlane.

Whose Yard is It?

The story of Reigns vs. Undertaker has been skeletal. There have been some cool moments and plenty of tension during staredowns, but the story of their match has boiled down to each man claiming WWE is his yard.

In what could be The Deadman's last match, he faces a young powerhouse who could give him the best bout he's had at the event in years.

The clash is WWE's opportunity to change the narrative surrounding Reigns. The effort to make The Big Dog the next great babyface has failed. Fans have pushed back against that with a passion.

Reigns could leave WrestleMania with a monumental amount of heat should he turn heel, cheat to knock off Undertaker at an event where he's won 23 times and be the one to put The Phenom out to pasture.

Fatal 4-Way

Bayley faces miserable odds in her WrestleMania debut.

The hug-happy wrestler will face archrival Charlotte Flair, a beastly foe in Nia Jax and three-time women's champ Sasha Banks. It's The Boss she most has to worry about in all likelihood. WWE has been foreshadowing a betrayal from Banks for weeks.

A knife in the back is inevitable.

Banks dethroning Bayley in underhanded fashion is an easy way to reignite their rivalry from NXT. The popular babyface could then go back on the title hunt en route to SummerSlam.

Wyatt vs. Orton

The Eater of Worlds faces a man who once posed as his follower. Randy Orton pledged allegiance to Bray Wyatt for months, with the two of them even winning the SmackDown tag titles together.

The Viper, though, was only laying an elaborate trap.

He has since broken away from Wyatt's crew, toyed with him psychologically and burned down the Wyatt Family compound. A strange, often supernatural build has led to a WWE title match with ample promise.

Wyatt will be seeking his first win at the event after falling to Cena and Undertaker at previous WrestleManias.

Lesnar vs. Goldberg III

Behemoths will collide one final time.

Goldberg has not only beaten The Beast Incarnate twice, but he embarrassed him in their last encounter. The universal champ finished off Brock Lesnar in mere seconds at Survivor Series.

Lesnar will be hoping for a different result. Both men have to be hoping for a different reaction from the fans to the one they had during their first meeting, back in 2004 at WrestleMania XX. The Madison Square Garden fans booed and lambasted the two big men.

This time around, Goldberg is 50 and has performed only a handful of moves during his latest run.

It's hard to predict just what the match will look like or how long it will go, but the result is a lock. There's little chance Goldberg beats down the beast again. Lesnar's revenge is inevitable.
