
LaDainian Tomlinson Hired as Chargers' Special Assistant to the Owner
The Los Angeles Chargers are bringing LaDainian Tomlinson back to serve as a special assistant to the owner.
Per an official release from the Chargers, Tomlinson's role is to "support the organization and expand its community outreach as the franchise continues the transition to Los Angeles."
"L.T. is one of the most beloved and iconic Chargers of all time," Chargers chairman Dean Spanos said. "His active involvement in our fight for Los Angeles is vital, and he represents the very best of what it means to be a Charger on the field and in the community."

The franchise called San Diego home from 1961-2016.
"I spent the most memorable and exciting years of my career as a Charger," Tomlinson said. "Joining the franchise as it makes the move to Los Angeles, and helping to rally new and familiar Chargers fans alike, is an honor and a privilege. I'm looking forward to working alongside the Spanos family once again."
Tomlinson was drafted fifth overall by the Chargers in 2001. He played nine seasons with the franchise, winning MVP in 2006.
He will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in August in his first year of eligibility.
