Real Madrid Transfer News: Alan's Agent Meets Florentino Perez, Latest Rumours

Alex KebleMar 30, 2017

Palmeiras' 17-year-old Brazilian winger Alan Souza has met with representatives of Real Madrid, including president Florentino Perez, according to Jose Felix Diaz of Marca.

The European champions are reportedly interested in signing Alan, who has already played for the Brazil under-20s and is considered one of the most promising young players in Brazilian football, as noted by Sergio Gomez for AS.

Alan, a left-footed playmaker, first caught Real's eye when playing in the under-17s Club World Cup against Los Blancos at the Santiago Bernabeu in 2016.

But the Brazilian's stock has risen considerably since then, after he scored a hat-trick in Brazil's final match of the 2017 South American Under-17 Football Championship.

Following his success, Inter Milan reportedly made an approach for Alan, which lead to the €50 million release clause that is now in his Palmeiras contract, per Diaz.

Real's approach is evidence of their constant pursuit to catch future stars early, since Alan will not be able to sign for the club until the 2018-19 season. He does not turn 18 until March 2018, and due to Brazilian transfer rules, he cannot move country until such a time.

Zinedine Zidane's side sit atop La Liga and are looking forward to a Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich in April. With things going so well for the senior side since Zidane's appointment, it is no wonder the president can find time to woo Brazil's future stars.
