Manchester City Transfer News: Jesus Navas Linked with Sevilla Move, Top Rumours

Rob BlanchetteMar 28, 2017

Jesus Navas wants to depart Manchester City this summer but is waiting on former club Sevilla to confirm an offer to sign him as a free agent.

According to Marca (via Sport Witness), the winger has been hoping the La Liga club make an official approach for him since he became eligible to speak to other teams as his contract expires at the Etihad Stadium.

Navas "has waited for 100 days" for Los Blanquirrojos to offer him a deal, and the player has already enrolled his child into a school in Andalusia, per Marca. However, doubts over the future managerial structure at Sevilla have stopped the club making a swift decision.

The attacker has been with the Sky Blues for four campaigns, signing in a £14.9 million deal in 2013.

Navas is a former Premier League winner with City, also scooping the League Cup twice during his stay.

The Spaniard has seen his role reduced under new manager Pep Guardiola, starting only seven games in the Premier League this term—according to WhoScored.com—after the successes of Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane.

In other Sky Blues news, under-fire goalkeeper Claudio Bravo has said he wants to remain with City despite losing his No. 1 place to Willy Caballero.

Manchester City's Chilean goalkeeper Claudio Bravo gestures to the Huddersfield fans after Manchester City's Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho scored his team's fifth goal during the FA Cup fifth round replay football match between Manchester City and Hu

Wally Downes Jr. of The Sun reported the Chile international has quashed rumours of an imminent exit after failing to impress at Eastlands since his switch from Barcelona.

According to Downes Jr., Bravo said:

"

It's all false, that I'm looking for another place to play, because I want to leave, things that are not true.

I'm happy in England and so is my family.

The issue that I was not playing came out, many examples of fake news have come out that, above all, have no information about them.

Many things also come out from this country that are not true - that I have a psychologist, or an English teacher to have a faster adaptation.

"

The goalkeeper was purchased by Guardiola for City to have a player between the sticks who could use his feet, but since replacing Joe Hart, Bravo has struggled to keep the ball out of the net.

The 33-year-old has only managed to achieve four clean sheets in the Premier League this term, per Squawka.com, and his career at City appears in disrepair.

Guardiola has recently been linked with a world-record bid for burgeoning AC Milan stopper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

However, according to Italian newspaper La Verita (h/t Goal), the San Siro giants have no plans to sell, despite the reported £130 million Guardiola is willing to spend.

Small-framed 'keepers have previously succeeded in England, but size is certainly an advantage in the Premier League.

Bravo has struggled with physical elements of the English game, and his famous shot-stopping has been woeful since exiting Barca.

City need to invest in a world-class goalkeeper and reinvent their back four to have a chance of winning trophies next term.
