Manchester City Transfer News: Claudio Bravo Denies Exit Claims Amid Rumours
Manchester City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo has insisted he has no plans to leave the Etihad Stadium in the summer despite having lost his No. 1 spot under manager Pep Guardiola after less than a season at the club.
The former Barcelona stopper has been replaced as City's first-choice goalkeeper by Willy Caballero, and the Sky Blues have been heavily linked with summer moves for both AC Milan's Gianluigi Donnarumma and Benfica's Ederson, per James Ducker in the Telegraph.
Despite City's uncertain goalkeeping situation, Chile international Bravo, 33, has poured cold water on rumours he may leave Manchester in the summer, just a year on from his £13.75 million move from Barcelona, per Ducker:

"It's all false, that I'm looking for another place to play because I want to leave, things that are not true. I'm happy in England and so is my family.
The issue that I was not playing came out, many examples of fake news have come out. Things that, above all, have no information about them. Many things also come out from this country that are not true—that I have a psychologist, or an English teacher to have a faster adaptation.
"
Bravo arrived at City in the summer to replace former No. 1 Joe Hart, who was loaned out to Torino by Guardiola.
It is incredibly unlikely that the Englishman could return to become first choice at City again as the player himself believes he is now "surplus to requirements," per the BBC's Premier League Show (h/t the Press Association via the Guardian).
However, Bravo has been poor at City and cannot necessarily be relied upon long-term, per WhoScored.com:
Meanwhile, Caballero is out of contract at the end of the season and arguably does not boast the quality to be No. 1 at a club with aspirations of Premier League and UEFA Champions League glory.
According to Sky Sport Italia (via Football Italia), City are preparing to make a world-record offer of up to €150 million (£130.3 million) to Milan for 18-year-old Donnarumma, arguably the most talented young stopper on the planet.
If the Manchester outfit are indeed prepared to smash the record transfer fee to sign up the youngster, then clearly they do not have a lot of faith in their current crop of goalkeepers.
The signing of Bravo does look to have been an error on Guardiola's part as the Spanish manager was forced to drop the Chilean to the bench early in 2017 after a poor run of form, and he has been unable to get his spot back on a consistent basis.
It seems clear that Bravo will stay on past the summer to fight for his place, but that does not mean City will not be on the lookout for a new goalkeeper at the end of the season.
