South Carolina vs. Florida

The No. 7 Gamecocks came to play Sunday against No. 4 Florida and came up with the 77-70 win at Madison Square Garden. For a school that hadn't won an NCAA tournament game since 1973, it's incredible to think that South Carolina will be playing against top-seeded Gonzaga for a chance to play in the national championship game.
South Carolina's impressive play on the defensive end came up big once again and was a major influence in a tightly contested game.
But more so than playing good team defense, every player stepped up on offense, including the SEC Play of the Year and the most popular name in college basketball, Sindarius Thornwell.
Thornwell finished with 26 points on 8-of-13 shooting, including 9-of-10 from the charity stripe. But his 26-point outburst isn't a surprise at this point, as Thornwell has been playing at this level for quite some time.
It was an emotional day for Gamecocks fans who showed that the SEC is not just a football conference and South Carolina is so much more than a place for college football.
Florida came out strong in the first half, shooting a scorching 58 percent from the arc in the first half. Unfortunately for the Gators, consistency was an issue shooting the ball after halftime as they went 0-of-12 from long range in the second half.
Florida led 40-33 after the first half, but South Carolina roared back in the second, outscoring the Gators 44-30. The Gamecocks are still dancin' and will face their stiffest competition yet against the Bulldogs from Gonzaga.
Can South Carolina continue this run? Only time will tell. But the Gamecocks will never forget cutting down the nets at MSG—that's for sure.
Kentucky vs. North Carolina

This was the definition of a fast-paced basketball game that went down to the wire.
North Carolina was able to survive a late comeback bid from Kentucky, outlasting the Wildcats 75-73.
The first half was a sloppy 20 minutes of basketball despite the ferocious pace, but the second half saw a much more composed Kentucky team that gave UNC a run for its money.
Like all great NCAA tournament games, this one came down to the final seconds. UNC led for most of the game and was holding on to a 73-70 lead with 10 seconds remaining in the game.
But Malik Monk made an incredible, off-balance shot for the Wildcats to tie things up with seven seconds remaining.
The game seemed destined for overtime until Luke Maye hit a dagger from just inside the arc to put the Tarheels ahead 75-73 with just 0.3 seconds left on the clock.
It was one of the best finishes you'll see in a basketball game, let alone an Elite Eight matchup between two of the giants of college basketball.
With their tickets punched for a date with the Oregon Ducks in the Final Four, the Tarheels will be playing in their 20th Final Four, more than any other school in college basketball.
Keep on dancin', UNC fans. It's time for the Big Dance.
