Chelsea Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez
Chelsea could reportedly be offered Alvaro Morata by Real Madrid as part of the Spanish giants' attempts to sign Eden Hazard in the summer.
According to Sid Lowe in the Guardian, Real are eyeing Hazard as their next Galactico signing, and they may be willing to offer Morata in part-exchange, with the Spanish striker short on game time and open to a move to the Premier League.
Morata, 24, was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea from Juventus last summer, with Blues manager Antonio Conte a longtime admirer, per the Guardian's Dominic Fifield.

In the end, Real activated their £23 million buyback clause on the forward, but he has started only nine times in La Liga this season since his return to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Per WhoScored.com, he has still managed to net eight goals in the Spanish top flight and provide two assists, a fine return given he has only been afforded 890 minutes of action in La Liga.
He has been similarly efficient across all competitions, per Squawka:
Morata would be a fine addition to Chelsea's squad as they need greater depth in attacking areas.
Diego Costa, 28, is the current undisputed No. 9, but his Stamford Bridge future is far from certain—especially after a flirtation with the Chinese Super League back in January, per Neil Ashton in The Sun.
Meanwhile, Michy Batshuayi has yet to gain the confidence of Conte since his move to Stamford Bridge last summer.
Morata has all the attributes to thrive in the Premier League, and, should Chelsea lose Hazard to Real, it would soften the blow were the Blues to get the Spain international in return.
Meanwhile, playmaker James Rodriguez is another player Real would likely be willing to sell in order to facilitate a move for Hazard, and the Colombian's departure would be no surprise given he has played only a peripheral role recently, per Lowe.

Rodriguez was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge at the end of last year, although reports suggested Chelsea were not willing to pay £60 million for him, per Alec Shilton in The Sun.
He could well be available for cheaper in the summer if Real are eager to be rid of him, and he could be a valuable asset at Chelsea.
Despite his recent travails at Real—he has failed to nail down a first-team spot under manager Zinedine Zidane, starting only seven La Liga games in 2016-17, per WhoScored—he remains a hugely talented player.
The 25-year-old continues to thrive for Colombia having earned his big-money move to Real from AS Monaco on the back of his Golden Boot-winning performances for Los Cafeteros at the 2014 FIFA World Cup:
Given a prominent role at Stamford Bridge he could become a genuine superstar, and it seems highly likely he will be available in the summer given his continuing troubles at Real.
