Michael Porter Sr. to Join Cuonzo Martin's Missouri Coaching Staff
Michael Porter Sr. confirmed Thursday he will join Cuonzo Martin's coaching staff with the Missouri Tigers starting next season, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Dave Matter.
The move could have far-reaching consequences in the SEC after Porter Sr.'s son, 5- star swingman Michael Porter Jr., was released from his letter of intent with the Washington Huskies following the departure of head coach Lorenzo Romar.
On Wednesday, Porter Jr. confirmed he would examine all of his options now that the recruitment process is slated to start anew.

"Washington is definitely still on the list, I would just like to weigh all my options and make a decision from there," he said, according to ESPN.com's Jeff Borzello. "I just thought I want to be able to start over and look at all these schools and look at the pros and cons of each one."
Understandably, Missouri figures to be somewhere near the top of Porter Jr.'s list after his father—who was an assistant last season with Washington—agreed to join Martin and the Tigers.
"That’s home for me and they reached out to my dad with a job offer so if he accepts that, not saying I’ll definitely go there, but it’d be big," Porter Jr. told reporters Wednesday, per USA Today's Jason Jordan.
However, there are a couple other schools in the mix.
According to Jordan, Porter Jr. confirmed the Oklahoma Sooners and Virginia Cavaliers caught his attention and will receive consideration alongside Missouri and Washington.
