Manchester City Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Vincent Kompany, Joshua Kimmich
Napoli are reportedly interested in signing Vincent Kompany from Manchester City in the summer.
According to Calciomercato.it (h/t Calciomercato.com), the Partenopei are weighing up whether to move for the Belgian at the end of the season as they look to strengthen their back line.
The centre-back has been a stalwart for City since his arrival at the club in 2008, captaining the club to two Premier League titles, two League Cups and the FA Cup.

Only Juventus, Roma and Inter Milan have conceded fewer goals than Napoli in Serie A this season, while Kalidou Koulibaly and Raul Albiol represent a solid centre-back partnership, but there's still room for improvement.
Kompany has proved himself an excellent player during his time at the Etihad Stadium, but he's been increasingly unreliable in recent years.
Last season he made just 14 Premier League appearances, and this year injuries have restricted him to just three for a total of just 115 minutes.
As noted by City boss Pep Guardiola, he requires careful handling even after returning to training:
If he can stay fit, he would be a fantastic signing for Napoli, but it would be a fairly hefty gamble unless they can snap him up cheaply.
Meanwhile, according to The Sun's Martin Blackburn, Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich is at the top of Guardiola's summer wish list.
The 22-year-old is in his second season at Bayern after arriving under Guardiola. The Bundesliga hailed his rise at the start of the campaign:
However, he has started just 15 matches under Carlo Ancelotti. Despite that, he has been able to impress, as Squawka demonstrated:
| Appearances | 17 | 7 |
| Minutes | 940 | 296 |
| Goals | 4 | 3 |
| Assists | 1 | 0 |
| Chances Created | 19 | 4 |
| Tackles | 15 | 5 |
| Interceptions | 17 | 10 |
| Passing Accuracy | 86% | 92% |
Kimmich is a midfielder by trade, but he is highly versatile and has shown promise filling in at centre-back and right-back during his time in Munich.
The German hasn't been satisfied with his level of game time this season, but Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has given him assurances that will improve, telling Sky Sport (h/t Goal's Joe Wright): "We have big plans for him in the future. He will be, quite literally, our successor to Philipp Lahm. From next season, he'll get more and more minutes."
While linking up with Guardiola again would likely be tempting for the youngster, Bayern seem well aware of his ability and potential even if he's not currently a regular starter.
As such, landing his signature this summer will be extremely difficult.
