B/R Kicks: Top Releases of the Week

Giancarlo Ferrari-KingMar 15, 2017

With the weekend looming, we've begun to shift our attention to what Nike is doing—rightfully so. With three distinct models set to drop this weekend, customers are once again in a position of power.

Not to be outdone, Jordan Brand is bringing an Air Jordan XII Low to the table, and Adidas' latest Damian Lillard model is also on the docket.

Analyzing all of the models set to burst wallets apart, let's take a deeper dive into the top releases of the week.

Air Jordan XII Low 'Wolf Grey'

1 of 5

Sneaker: Air Jordan XII Low "Wolf Grey"

Release Date: March 18

Price: $170

Jordan Brand's renewed sense of passion for low iterations of its top sneakers has come back with the Air Jordan XIII Low "Wolf Grey."

This colorway is exactly what you'd expect from the name. Matte gray douses the entire casing of the shoe from the rubberized toe box to the plush upper. There's no element of surprise with the "Wolf Grey" Air Jordan XII Low.

Priced around $170, a predictive target range for these kicks, the dollar signs attached to them aren't really shocking.

Nike Air Foamposite Pro 'Silver Age'

2 of 5

Sneaker: Nike Air Foamposite Pro "Silver Age"

Release Date: March 18

Price: $250

A Foamposite release demands Foamposite pricing. With the Nike Air Foamposite "Silver Age" descending on March 18, a lavish $250 is what it's going to cost you to claim a pair for yourself.

All of the bells, whistles, glitter and gadgets come stationed in the "Silver Age" Foamposite Pro. Traditional groove lines and a chromed-out Swoosh emblem give this sneaker a tin foil vibe. Not necessarily reflective yet still eye-catching.

The Foamposite line remains provocative for its venturesome look. You either love the space-age formula or you can do without it. Regardless of the direction you lean, Nike clearly understands there's a market for the Foamposite Pro. It's why the "Silver Age" is releasing on March 18.

Adidas Lillard 3 'Legacy'

3 of 5

Sneaker: Adidas Lillard 3 "Legacy"

Release Date: March 17

Price: $115

It's tough to beat the competitive pricing index for Adidas' Lillard 3. Slapping a $115 tag onto these kicks gives consumers a workable, supportive sneaker without shattering the bank.

Compare the Lillard 3 to a retro pair of Air Jordans or even the Nike Foamposite Pro. For a quarter of the price, you're going to get a better on-court sneaker—vanity and aesthetics are up for debate.

The "Legacy" edition officially lands in the arms of retailers on March 17. For a playable, constructive sneaker, it's tough to pass on these particular Lillard 3s.

Nike Air Max 1 'Atmos'

4 of 5

Sneaker: Nike Air Max 1 "Atmos"

Release Date: March 18

Price: $150

People love the Nike Air Max 1 "Atmos." Besides being the winner of Nike's Air Max vote last year, the sneaker has gained cult status after its initial release in 2006.

Crafted by Japanese-based design company Atmos, the shoe features graphite, cobblestone print around the toe box and heel. Touched up with a turquoise Swoosh medallion and a black midsole panel, these kicks have all of the makings for a winner.

Based on its exuberant personality, the Air Max 1 "Atmos" might be tough to find. Stay close to Nike's SNKRS app on March 18 for your chance to procure a pair.

Nike Zoom Modairna 'Thunder Blue'

5 of 5

Sneaker: Nike Zoom Modairna "Thunder Blue"

Release Date: March 18

Price: $175

Designed for Nike's women clientele, the Zoom Modairna silhouette took its inspiration from Gary Payton's Nike Zoom Flight. Like "The Glove," this sneaker is all about conformity and having a molded fit.

Despite being an off-court sneaker, the Modairna comes equipped with a full-length Zoom Air Unit. That makes routine movements effortless.

The shoe may look black at first glance, but it's actually "Thunder Blue." This dark blue colorway is perfect for athletes who don't want to scoff their kicks.

Nike has created an adventurous sneaker with enough glamor to serve its purpose. Releasing March 18 on the SNKRS app, the Zoom Modairna is Nike's next step in off-the-court aesthetics.
