Break out the calculators and spreadsheets, because March Madness is finally here.

Following a lengthy deliberation process by the NCAA tournament selection committee, the bracket for this year's Big Dance was unveiled Sunday evening as the college basketball world turned its undivided attention to the highly anticipated reveal.

All in all, the selection committee had to sift through a crowded field of schools and select the 68 teams worthy of competing for a national title.

Below, you'll find a complete list of this year's field, which features the Villanova Wildcats as the No. 1 overall seed, with the Kansas Jayhawks, Gonzaga Bulldogs and North Carolina Tar Heels as the other top dogs:

Matt Norlander of CBSSports.com provided the tip times for the round of 64:

The Wildcats were long considered a safe bet to capture a one seed in some capacity, but the No. 1 overall ranking wasn't as much of a certainty entering championship week. However, the Jayhawks' loss in the Big 12 tournament quarterfinals combined with Villanova's Big East title gave the Wildcats the bump they needed.

Now locked into the top spot in the East Region, the Wildcats figure to be under the microscope as they seek to become the first team to repeat as national champions since the 2006-07 Florida Gators.

"You know what, I don't know yet about the pressure," Villanova head coach Jay Wright said after Saturday's win over the Creighton Bluejays, per Norlander. "There's different kinds of pressure during the year. There's definitely a hangover from last year, which however you define it put pressure on us through this season. And I thought we handled it really well."

Like the Wildcats, the Jayhawks and Bulldogs were viewed as likely No. 1 seeds following regular seasons filled with few blemishes.

That said, Kansas did not receive a particularly favorable draw, as Athlon Sports' Bryan Fischer observed:

The big question, though, revolved around the Tar Heels' legitimacy as a No. 1 seed, specifically as it related to the Duke Blue Devils.

Although the Blue Devils lost eight games and floundered at times during the regular season, they had a legitimate case for a No. 1 seed after they bested the Tar Heels twice and captured an ACC tournament title with a win over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Saturday night.

Factor in Duke's 13 wins against the RPI Top 50 and 9-1 record on neutral floors, and Mike Krzyzewski's club seemed to have a real chance to leap up to the No. 1 line.

Instead, Duke will have to make do with the No. 2 seed in the East Region.

The Blue Devils may be unhappy, but as Yahoo Sports' Jeff Eisenberg explained, Villanova may have a bigger gripe now that it could meet the ACC champs in the Elite Eight:

Speaking of No. 2 seeds, the Arizona Wildcats solidified their status as a force to be reckoned with when they defeated the UCLA Bruins and Oregon Ducks en route to a Pac-12 title.

And while a case could have been made for the Wildcats to wedge their way into the one-seed conversation, the numbers simply didn't work in their favor.

As Eisenberg noted, "The Wildcats may play in the tougher conference, but the Zags tallied the same number of RPI top 50 wins, suffered three fewer losses and defeated Arizona head-to-head on a neutral floor in December, albeit without suspended star Allonzo Trier."

In keeping with the Pac-12 theme, Yahoo Sports' Pat Forde was struck by how the Oregon Ducks dropped to the No. 3 line after Chris Boucher was diagnosed with a season-ending ACL tear:

Elsewhere in the world of curious seeding, Bleacher Report's Jason King and David Gardner were surprised by Wichita State's No. 10 ranking in the South Region:

In the East Region, former Wisconsin Badgers and current Charlotte Hornets forward Frank Kaminsky wasn't thrilled that his alma mater graded out as a No. 8 seed:

Then there were the Vanderbilt Commodores, who overcame a shaky regular season to qualify over the likes of Syracuse, Illinois State, Monmouth and California, per NBC Sports' Rob Dauster:

However, Allstate's Mayhem pointed out that it could always be worse:

However, there was no debating the Northwestern Wildcats' worthiness as a No. 8 seed as they clinched their first berth in the Big Dance.

Yahoo Sports' Matt Fortuna was on-site to capture the team's reaction when its name was revealed:

Wildcats alum Julia Louis-Dreyfus joined in on the celebration in a way only she could:

The debate will rage on in advance of the tournament's arrival, but the focus will soon shift to what figures to be a dance filled with drama.

And if last year was any indication, there should be plenty of surprises ahead as the field of 68 sets its sights on college basketball's most prized hardware.
