The NASCAR Xfinity Series Boyd Gaming 300 took center stage at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday afternoon, and Joey Logano came out on top thanks to a stellar showing down the stretch in the desert.

Logano led a race-high 102 laps, and he just edged out a hungry Kyle Larson for top honors, as FS1 documented on Twitter:

Here's a look at the top finishers from Saturday's race, with complete results available at FoxSports.com:

7Kyle Busch482.908

9Ryan Reed03.593
10Brad Keselowski124.062

Kyle Busch dominated the first stage of Saturday's proceedings, leading all 45 laps during the opening stanza.

However, the reigning champion received some steady competition from Larson, who pulled ahead for a brief moment before Busch regained the lead, as FS1 documented on Twitter:

Those two continued to jockey for position as Stage 1 drew to a close, but Busch ultimately edged Larson out by a nose, via FS1:

Before long, Larson was in the lead.

The No. 42 car appeared in control throughout a majority of the second stage, and it only fell behind following a pit stop for new tires during the fourth caution of the day.

All told, Larson led 31 laps during the second stage before he ceded the lead to Brad Keselowski toward the end of the frame.

CatchFence.com's Chris Knight provided an overview of the pecking order entering the day's final stage:

And while Logano burst in front after the restart, Busch and Larson were in hot pursuit as they trailed close behind in second and third place, respectively.

All three of those drivers hit pit road for fuel and fresh tires with approximately 58 laps to go, at which point they appeared primed to let loose down the stretch.

However, a handful of cautions proceeded to consume a sizable chunk of the remaining laps as the action slowed and stagnated to varying degrees until there were only four laps remaining.

By the time Logano had snagged the checkered flag, nine cautions had overshadowed what once appeared to be a race destined for a thrilling finish.

That said, the No. 12 will take a win any way he can get one.

Now with a big Xfinity victory in tow, Logano will turn his attention toward next week's race at Phoenix International Raceway as temperatures crank up in the desert.

Post-Race Reaction

Following Logano's dominant performance, he admitted the race was a challenge, but the fact that he had such a strong car helped push him to victory lane, according to Reid Spencer of NASCAR.com:

"

It was hard to figure out what to do, what lane to pick. The one thing we did know is that we had a very fast Ford Mustang. [Crew chief] Brian Wilson and all the guys that bring this 12 car out, that's three wins in a row for the 12 car, so that's something I'm proud to be a part of and work with these guys. ... It was a challenging day from the restart standpoint.

"

Larson fell short in his efforts to chase down Logano but expressed his belief that some help from Daniel Suarez may have produced a different result, per Spencer: "I needed Daniel to push me and not pull out [of line]. I think if Daniel would have ever gotten to my back bumper to help me, he probably would have taken that opportunity to pull out and pass me. It would have been hard to clear Joey, but I definitely needed some help behind me."

Larson also described the impact that running in front of the field had on Logano en route to victory, according to Joe Menzer of FoxSports.com: "I thought Joey and I were pretty equal. I just think clean air was big. I probably just needed some longer runs there at the end."

Logano and Larson are among those who will battle it out for a Cup Series win at Las Vegas on Sunday.
