Greg Zuerlein Re-Signs with Los Angeles Rams on 3-Year Contract
The Los Angeles Rams maintained some continuity on special teams Tuesday when they re-signed kicker Greg Zuerlein.
Per Myles Simmons of the Rams' official website, Zuerlein agreed to a three-year deal with the team.
NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported Zuerlein's new contract will average $2.25 million per season.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
"Greg the Leg" entered the league as a sixth-round draft pick in 2012 and has spent his entire career with the franchise.
He made 19-of-22 field goals (86.4 percent) in 2016 and was 17-of-18 from within 50 yards as one of the more consistent kickers in the league. He also converted every one of his extra points, which isn't as automatic as it used to be in the NFL since the yardage was moved back.
Jordan Plocher of Pro Football Focus said Zuerlein was a "must re-sign" for the Rams, and the team must have agreed given this news.
"Zuerlein has been the Rams most consistent point-scorer in the last few years," Plocher wrote. "Zuerlein's leg can turn many stalled Rams' drives into three points and with the Rams' offense still a bit away from being productive, keeping Zuerlein in house will be hugely beneficial to the team."
Zuerlein turned heads in his second year when he hit 92.9 percent of his field goals and then his third year when he drilled five from more than 50 yards.
However, he hasn't always been a consistent offensive weapon and made just 20-of-30 (66.7 percent) field goals in 2015. He also made just three of his nine efforts from beyond 50 yards that season.
Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com noted Zuerlein was 35th in the league in field-goal percentage during his worst campaign, but the Rams still signed him to a one-year deal.
He bounced back on that one-year deal and now has the chance to build on his personal momentum again for the only NFL franchise he has ever known.
