Teams to Watch For
Butler Bulldogs

Unless you hate underdogs, it's hard not to like watching Butler play in the NCAA Tournament. Not only is this year's team better than any team Brad Stevens had during his tenure as head coach from 2007-2013, this team knows how to win big basketball games on the big stage, and they've already proved it this season.
Butler is ranked No. 11 in both the AP and Coaches polls with a 23-6 overall record. They have defeated the projected no. 1 seed Villanova Wildcats not once, but twice this season. Whoever plays Nova in this year's tournament such study the way Butler played them, because they know the formula to defeat top teams.
It's hard to believe that this year's tournament will mark seven years since Butler went on back-to-back national championship runs, losing to Duke back in 2010 in dramatic fashion (I'm sure Gordon Hayward would love to have this shot back) and in 2011 to Connecticut.
Butler could have a top-three seed this tournament, according to CBS Sports, which would be the highest seed the team has ever had in the Big Dance. While some may still consider Butler to be a Cinderella team in the tournament, it wouldn't be a surprise to see this program march its way to another Final Four appearance, the school's third Final Four in seven years.
Syracuse Orange

Syracuse have been, well, pretty bad by their usually lofty standards over the past couple of years, but there's just something about head coach Jim Boeheim and his zone-defensive scheme that seems to cause fits during this time of year in the tournament.
While the Orange have a lot of work to do to get in the tournament, long before they can even think of what they'll do against stiffer competition, there is no denying that Syracuse is a well-coached team that has a history of making tournament runs.
Just last year, Syracuse was a 10th seed in the tournament but still managed to pull off a Final Four run beating the likes of Dayton, Middle Tennessee State, Gonzaga and top-seeded Virginia before eventually losing to No. 1 North Carolina.
With an 18-13 overall record this season, Syracuse is projected to land an 11th-seed and face off against No. 6 Minnesota, according to ESPN.com's Joe Lunardi.
Realistically, Syracuse needs to show up on Wednesday against Miami in the ACC Tournament and get a win to strengthen its bid for postseason play. A poor showing against the Hurricanes could result in Syracuse being on the outside looking in come Selection Sunday.
