Jeremy Kerley Re-Signs with 49ers on 3-Year, $10.5 Million Contract
The San Francisco 49ers still need to find a quarterback for next season, but whoever winds up taking snaps under center will have Jeremy Kerley to throw to after the wide receiver agreed to a contract extension.
Per ESPN's Adam Schefter and Adam Caplan, Kerley agreed to a three-year deal worth $10.5 million to remain with the 49ers.
Kerley took to Twitter to comment on the deal:

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Acquired during the preseason last August in a trade with the Detroit Lions, Kerley was one of the few bright spots for a San Francisco team that finished 2-14 overall and had the NFL's sixth-lowest scoring offense.
Kerley led the 49ers in targets (115), receptions (64), receiving yards (667) and tied for second with three touchdown catches. He also set or tied career-highs in receptions, receiving touchdowns and starts (13).
Re-signing Kerley marks the second major move for the 49ers' new regime of head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch. They signed defensive tackle Earl Mitchell to a four-year deal on February 25 after he was released by the Miami Dolphins.
The 49ers still need to find a quarterback who can get Kerley the ball. Colin Kaepernick opted out of his contract on Friday to become a free agent, per Joe Fann of 49ers.com. Blaine Gabbert is an unrestricted free agent.
There are different ways for the 49ers to address the position. They own the No. 2 overall pick in April's draft, though they could also try to procure someone via free agency or a trade.
Whatever happens at quarterback, Kerley's presence in the slot will ensure the 49ers have at least one reliable offensive weapon for Shanahan to build his offense around in 2017.
