Liverpool Transfer News: Daniel Sturridge, PSG Loan Dismissed, Top Reds Rumours
Liverpool reportedly dismissed the possibility of loaning Daniel Sturridge to Paris Saint-Germain in January, with the striker's future not to be determined until the summer when manager Jurgen Klopp can hold "crunch talks" with him.
According to an exclusive from Goal's Melissa Reddy and Loic Tanzy, the French side "were heavily considering" making a loan offer for the striker, but the Reds "made it clear they would not authorise such a deal."
The club did not want to lose any first-team players in the middle of the season, but they are prepared "to field multiple enquiries" over Sturridge at the end of the campaign.

Per The Telegraph's John Percy, Klopp made clear no decisions would be made on Sturridge until then, though, with important discussions to be had:
"I have no idea what happens in the summer. It is not only Daniel but a lot of players. Daniel was not in training for eight or nine days because of a virus infection.
We have to bring him back to the best shape possible and then bring this season to an end as successfully as possible. Then we will make decisions and speak about Daniel and any other players about what will happen at the end of the season.
"
The German added: "A lot of things will influence this and we can speak about it when it is time."
After Monday's 3-1 defeat at the hands of Leicester City, Klopp said both he and his players are fighting for their futures at the club, per Reddy:
Despite largely avoiding the injuries that have plagued him in recent years, Sturridge has made 21 appearances in all competitions this season, starting just nine matches. As a result, he's only been on the pitch for 967 minutes in total, averaging just 46 minutes on the field per outing.
In that time, the striker has scored six goals and provided three assists for his team-mates.
The 27-year-old is the most clinical goalscorer in Liverpool's squad but isn't a natural fit in Klopp's system, and the Reds instead play with Roberto Firmino as a false nine.
Gianluca Di Marzio's Joseph Musker hopes PSG return for Sturridge:
Moving him on would likely be the best solution for all parties—the England international should be playing far more regularly and could be an excellent signing for a number of sides, while Liverpool can bring in a similarly prolific hitman who fits better into Klopp's plans.
That hitman will seemingly not be Sassuolo's Domenico Berardi, though, as the reported Liverpool target has "provisionally agreed terms" with Inter Milan, who are negotiating a transfer fee for him, according to Italian newspaper Il Giornale (h/t TalkSport).

The 22-year-old is one of the brightest young prospects in Italy, as noted by football writer David Amoyal:
Injury has restricted Berardi to just 14 appearances this season, in which time he's notched seven goals and four assists.
The Italian isn't an out-and-out centre-forward—he ostensibly plays on the right—but he's still a prolific goalscorer. Indeed, he's already Sassuolo's record scorer with 56 goals, 40 of which have come in 100 Serie A appearances.
Such a record is impressive for a player of his age, and he's only set to get better. If Inter have snapped him up, that's a blow to any of his admirers.
