Speedy Noil Charged with Marijuana Possession: Latest Details and Comments
Texas A&M wide receiver Speedy Noil turned himself in to College Station police Tuesday on a marijuana possession charge, according to Brent Zwerneman of the Houston Chronicle.
Noil reportedly had less than two ounces of marijuana in his possession when he was charged. Zwerneman added more details to the incident:
He posted his $2,000 bond and has been released, per Zwerneman.
Texas A&M released a brief statement, per Zwerneman, "We are aware of the situation with football player [Speedy] Noil and he was suspended prior to practice today per (AD) policy."
Noil, a junior, was suspended at the end of last season for violating team rules, missing the Music City Bowl vs. Louisville and this year's season home opener against UCLA.
He served as a returner and wideout for the Aggies in 2016, catching 21 passes for 325 yards and two touchdowns.
It remains unclear what disciplinary action Texas A&M will take against Noil, if any, or if he will be suspended for the team's Advocare V100 Texas Bowl matchup against Kansas State on Dec. 28.
