Crystal Palace vs. Chelsea: Antonio Conte's Pre-Match Press Conference Comments

Christopher SimpsonDec 16, 2016

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte remained coy when quizzed about Oscar's possible move to the Chinese Super League in January ahead of his side's trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The Italian would not be drawn on Oscar's potential departure or whether he would be replaced if he leaves, per Goal's Nizaar Kinsella:

According to Brazilian outlet Sportv (h/t BBC Sport), Oscar said he was "90 per cent sure" he would be moving to Shanghai SIPG in a £60 million deal in January.

Conte also opened up about the level of wealth in the Chinese Super League, per Kinsella and ESPN FC's Liam Twomey:

Whatever happens against Palace, the Blues are guaranteed top spot in the Premier League at Christmas after stringing together 10 wins in a row.

The 47-year-old is paying no attention to the history of the matter, though:

Indeed, he believes the title race is far from over, per Twomey: "Until the end six, seven teams can fight for the title."

He also rejected Palace counterpart Alan Pardew's comment that Chelsea look "unbeatable:"

The former Italy manager acknowledged the danger the Eagles could pose, according to Chelsea's official Twitter feed:

In stark contrast with Chelsea's form, Palace have won just one of their last 10 games and only Swansea City and Hull City have conceded more than their 31 goals.

Pardew's side have impressed going forward, though, netting 28—the most of any team outside the top four.

Conte confirmed Eden Hazard has been fit to train, but the playmaker will be further assessed before being selected in the starting lineup:

If he does play, he'll undoubtedly boost the Blues' chances of recording an 11th straight win.

The Belgian has looked revitalised under Conte and has netted eight goals already this campaign—Palace will struggle to contain him if he's on the field.

Chelsea have looked strong all over the pitch, though, so they should be able to get three points provided they avoid complacency.
