Real Madrid Transfer News: Latest on James Rodriguez PSG Loan Rumours
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly considering a loan move for Real Madrid winger James Rodriguez during the winter transfer window after seeing their hopes of a permanent switch amount to nothing.
According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is still an admirer of the former AS Monaco playmaker, except he's now resorted to chasing a temporary deal as opposed to a complete purchase.
The Ligue 1 champions have been fervently linked as one of the major suitors who might be able to take Rodriguez away from the Santiago Bernabeu after he's failed to fit in under manager Zinedine Zidane.

Star-Studded World Cup Ad 🤩
Rodriguez has started in just nine matches across all competitions this season and is far from high in Zidane's pecking order, although the numbers suggest he deserves more of a chance among the star-studded lineup:
The Colombia star moved to the Bernabeu in the summer of 2014 after enjoying a terrific run at that year's World Cup, where he claimed the Golden Boot, but his club career has endured a downward slope since then.
That being said, Rodriguez has shown he's still of great value to Los Blancos when he is afforded his opportunity, such as in last Wednesday's UEFA Champions League draw against Borussia Dortmund, per Squawka:
Speaking to the press ahead of Saturday's 3-2 win over Deportivo La Coruna, Zidane dashed speculation of Rodriguez leaving the club in January, however, per Marca's Patricia Terroba: "James is not going to leave here for sure. I do not want him to leave. To know if he will be in the eleven (for Depor), you have to wait."
Meanwhile, former Colombia forward Faustino Asprilla has hinted Cristiano Ronaldo could be a damaging influence on the younger Rodriguez:
The 25-year-old could revive his career in France should the two clubs come to an agreement, and it's plausible PSG will invest this winter after seeing summer signing Jese Rodriguez and Hatem Ben Arfa struggle to match expectations.
However, it seems unlikely Real will allow their South American to leave on temporary terms unless they receive substantial reimbursement, not to mention the fact Rodriguez provides a considerable bench option.
The South American knows Ligue 1 well after previously impressing for Monaco, where he scored 10 goals in 38 appearances during his sole season in the French top flight.
Zidane seems intent on keeping his wing outcast around, but Rodriguez may yet decide he's ready to abort his Real Madrid mission—even temporarily—in order to attempt a revival elsewhere.
