The Jets Trade For Braylon Edwards: A Risky Move To Say The Least
The Jets trading for Edwards is a big mistake to say the least. Braylon Edwards carries a lot of baggage with him and with the Jets off to a surprising 3-1 start why on Earth would you go after this guy?
Yes, Edwards is a former pro-bowler in his own right, but in recent years his playing ability has diminished significantly. He has been known to drop passes that should be caught and overall there are a lot of question marks surrounding him.
Mark Sanchez now will have to connect with Edwards and form some type of chemistry with him. Sanchez has performed well in the Jets offense and throwing Edwards opposite Jerricho Cotchery looks good on paper, I don't think it will play out on the field.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Chansi Stuckey was a 7th round draft pick out of Clemson who earned the No. 2 wide receiver spot in training camp. Now he, special teams and back up linebacker Jason Trusnick, and two undisclosed draft picks are headed off to Cleveland.
This is the second big deal in nearly six months between Mangini and his former team. The first was in the draft that led to the acquisition of quarterback Mark Sanchez. Maybe, this trade will work out like the first, but with all of the off-field incidents Edwards has been involved in there is a lot of risks.
Edwards caught 10 balls in the first four games. He is coming off a game where he didn't have a reception. This isn't the Braylon Edwards that caught 16 touchdowns only a couple years ago.
Braylon has been fined for speeding, was out partying with Donte Stallworth the same night he struck and killed a pedestrian in the cross-walk. Now there is reports that he punched a friend of Lebron James outside a nightclub in Cleveland.
It is clear that his time in Cleveland was up, but coming to the New York Jets is a high risk high reward situation. Braylon could play out to be a big part of the Jets offense moving forward but he is now under league investigation for his latest incident and there is a lot of uncertainty surround him.
Rex Ryan has transformed the Jet's defense upside down. They are attacking the quarterback and forcing turnovers unlike any Jets team before. This Jets defense is a unit that leads by performance on the field in its own right.
The running attack is strong led by Thomas Jones and Leon Washington. These two provide a duel attack that bring both power and speed to the table. Putting Braylon Edwards on the field who is a playmaker in his own right, could change the dimension of this offense.
Braylon Edwards is going to come in and be that deep threat in the Jets offense. It is a fresh start for him, but it is New York and they are expecting big things from him. Lets see if he can go out there and live up to the hype.
