Real Madrid Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Marcos Llorente and Mesut Ozil
Marcos Llorente will reportedly resist any attempts to prise him away from Real Madrid as he is eager to follow in the footsteps of his father, great-uncle and grandfather, all of whom had lengthy careers with Los Blancos.
The 21-year-old midfielder is on loan at Alaves from Real and has only previously flirted with the Los Blancos first team, but he dreams of establishing himself at the Santiago Bernabeu to mimic father Paco, great-uncle Francisco Gento and grandfather Ramon Grosso, according to Giles Mole in the Telegraph.
Arsenal were recently reported to be interested in signing the young Spaniard, with Don Balon (h/t the Daily Star and via Mole) suggesting Gunners manager Arsene Wenger would "pay almost any price" to snap him up.

Defensive midfielder Llorente has started 11 La Liga games in 2016-17 for an Alaves side punching way above their weight having only just been promoted to the Spanish top flight, per Spanish football writer Colin Millar:
The current campaign is proving something of a breakout season as he has impressed during his regular top-flight appearances—for Real last term, he was given only 23 minutes of La Liga action, per WhoScored.com.
As can be seen below, Llorente boasts a phenomenal passing range, while he is also strong in the tackle and comfortable on the ball:
Arsenal and Wenger's reported interest in him is hardly a surprise given his obvious potential, but—as well as the fact that Llorente is eager to return to Real—Los Blancos likely see him as a key part of their future plans.
Meanwhile, Real potentially stand a chance of re-signing their former player, Mesut Ozil, from Arsenal.
Jose Felix Diaz in Marca recently reported that the German playmaker and Paris Saint-Germain's Angel Di Maria both harbour desires to return to the Bernabeu.

A Metro report has now added that Arsenal are unwilling to meet Ozil's demands for a new £250,000-a-week contract at the Emirates Stadium, with his current deal set to expire in 2018.
If the 28-year-old and Arsenal cannot agree to new and extended terms by the end of the season, then the Germany international could be available for a relatively cheap sum in the summer given he will only have a year left on his contract.
If he really is eager to return to Madrid, then Real could be open to re-signing Ozil, as he has shown excellent form recently and still has much he could offer in Zinedine Zidane's squad.
