Penn State's Evan Royster and Stephfon Green Break Record
Coming out of a great game on Saturday against Illinois, the Lions not only brought home a win, but also a new record for Penn State.
Evan Royster, No. 22, and Stephfon Green, number 21, both ran the ball for over a whopping 100 yards each. This is the first time in Lion history that two running backs have accomplished this.
The only time anyone has come close to this yardage was in 2005 when Tony Hunt (Running Back) and Michael Robinson (Quarterback) ran a similar amount of yards in a game against Wisconsin.
What did the students of Penn State think about the amazing performance by the RB's?
Do they think one RB should get the ball more than the other?
Kara R. thinks that the game was surprising and a refreshing change after the Iowa loss. She said that the plans and calls made were a great change of pace.
"I really like how the coaches utilized Green and I hope they choose to do it more often."
Gian says, "I am proud of how the Lions played. I don't think there is any controversy between the RB's, but I do like one better than the other--but I can't say who."
"As of right now in my opinion, Green is showing way more than Royster and should get the ball," says Peter J.
"I am a Royster fan all the way. I think that Green is good, but Royster is it," says Kyle G.
Even though both of them are awesome, I think that they should switch it up between the two and maybe even give Green the ball a little more and see what he can do.
As for the student body, I think the population is 50/50 with Royster and Green. As long as the team keeps winning (and maybe even breaking records), everyone is happy!
