Lindsey Vonn Injury: Updates on Olympic Star's Recovery from Arm Surgery
United States Olympic skier suffered a "severely fractured" humerus bone in her right arm during training that required surgery, she announced via her Facebook on Friday:
A timetable for Vonn's return has not been disclosed yet.
One of the greatest American Olympian skiers ever, Vonn has 76 World Cup wins, two Olympic medals, including a gold at the 2010 Vancouver Games in the downhill to go with six world championship medals.
But she has been forced to constantly deal with serious injuries throughout her career.
She suffered microfractures in her left forearm and then bruised her right shin before winning gold in Vancouver.
In 2011, she suffered a concussion before the World Championships in Austria.
Two years later in 2013, she suffered a torn ACL, which held her out for the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.
Last season saw her deal with a fractured ankle, which prevented her from winning a fifth World Cup title, per NBC Sports' Olympic Talk.
Vonn is just 10 wins away from tying Ingemar Stenmark's all-time record of 86 World Cup victories and this injury will surely put a lengthy delay in that pursuit.
However, with a little over a year until the 2018 Olympic Games in PyeongChang, South Korea, Vonn will likely be good to hit the slopes by then.
