Arsenal Transfer News: Latest on Hector Bellerin and Mesut Ozil Contract Rumours
Hector Bellerin's agent has confirmed he has held successful talks with Arsenal over a new deal at the club, while the Gunners are also reportedly nearing an agreement over a new contract with Mesut Ozil.
According to the Guardian's Ed Aarons, the right-back's representative Albert Botines held talks with the club last week and said: "We are speaking and are now a lot closer than we were two weeks ago. In a normal situation he will sign. Hector is very happy at Arsenal. This would be the fourth time he has signed a new contract at the club, and it is clear he has made good progress."

Per the Sun's Daniel Cutts, the Spaniard is a target for boyhood club Barcelona and Manchester City, but he is set to receive a "huge pay-rise." So too will Ozil, who will become the Gunners' top earner when he puts pen to paper.
Once the pair's deals are squared away, Arsenal will focus on securing Alexis Sanchez's long-term future and "hope to have something in place within the next few months."
Bellerin has firmly established himself in the Gunners' starting lineup over the last two seasons and is arguably the best right-back in the Premier League.
ESPN's Janusz Michallik is certainly a fan:
At just 21, the youngster still has plenty of scope to develop further as he adds experience to his game—while he may not yet be a game-changing star in the way Ozil and Sanchez are, securing his long-term future is almost as important.
That says much about how far Bellerin has come, given it is absolutely vital to the Gunners that the attacking duo put pen to paper on new deals.
Ozil is the team's primary creative force and has added goals to his game this season, netting seven thus far—just one short of last year's total.
Former Arsenal star Ray Parlour suggested the German had improved his position in contract negotiations after his stunning winner against Ludogorets in the UEFA Champions League:
Assists remain the playmaker's bread and butter, and he took his tally to four on Sunday when he contributed to a Kevin Wimmer own goal, per Dream Team FC:
As for Sanchez, he has eight goals and seven assists in all competitions this season, bringing his overall tally to 50 and 30, respectively, in 108 games for Arsenal.
The pair are the Gunners' most important attacking players and are kind of world-class talents the club need if they're to win the Premier League title once more or mount any sort of serious challenge for the Champions League.
Securing their futures will leave Arsenal in a strong position to build on—all that's left is to get the deals over the line.
