Real Madrid Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos
Real Madrid maestro Cristiano Ronaldo is ready to once again offset any rumoured plans for a Manchester United comeback following reports he's set to sign a new contract at Real Madrid. Elsewhere, Liverpool are understood to be among the clubs chasing Sergio Ramos.
Speculation has been incessant regarding a potential Old Trafford comeback for Ronaldo since his 2009 switch to Spain's capital, but Sport (h/t the Sun's Anthony Chapman) reported the forward is poised to sign a new five-year deal.

It's said Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes, is "deep in negotiations" with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez over a new contract that would keep the Euro 2016 winner at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium until the summer of 2021.
The Portugal captain will turn 32 in February, but passing the hallowed age of 30 hasn't slowed Ronaldo's touch in front of goal one jot, evidenced by his stellar 2016 form, per Sky Sports Statto:
The former Red Devil led Los Blancos to their second UEFA Champions League crown in the space of three seasons back in May, and he then added the European Championship to his trophy cabinet in July.
ESPN's Alex Shaw recently stated a grand impression of the player, hailing Ronaldo as one of those rare talents not measurable by any normal means:
"@ASHLEY_WOODHEAD He was world class between 2007-10 (in, conversely, an almost understated way). Ronaldo etc not world class: another planet
— Alex Shaw (@AlexShawESPN) October 11, 2016"
The forward's current Real contract has a little more than 18 months remaining, and if Ronaldo were to extend his contract in Madrid until 2021, it would mean he'd be 36 by the time its expiration date rolls around.
Such a deal would surely nullify any notion of the superstar making a return to former club United, and the UEFA Euro Twitter account attested to Real's main man as arguably a historically successful international figure:
Elsewhere, Spanish outlet Diario Gol (h/t Daily Star's Thomas McIlroy) reported Liverpool are eager to raise their interest in Ramos after it emerged Perez may no longer consider his defender unsellable.
It's said the Real president would consider the sale of his veteran centre-back while his signature still holds big value, and OptaJose recently put into context precisely why that is:
Perez is said to be "unhappy" with Ramos after seeing the Spain international concede four penalties already this season, convinced the defender has "taken his foot off the gas" since signing a new five-year deal last season.
Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are two other clubs who are said to be interested in Ramos' services if he does become available, and a decision from on high could mean the 30-year-old has to seek pastures new.
