Rami Hammad Arrested: Latest Details, Comments and Reaction
Former Baylor offensive lineman Rami Hammad was arrested Wednesday on two counts of criminal trespassing.ย
According to arrest records obtained by Kristin Hoppa of theย Waco Tribune,ย Hammad violated a criminal trespassing warning that banned him from campus this week. Hammad allegedly made an appearance at the campus'ย Title IX office Tuesday in an attempt to discuss an ongoing stalking case.
The 21-year-old was arrested and charged with felony stalking of an ex-girlfriend in August. He was issued a criminal trespassing warning, which stated he would be arrested if seen on campus while the stalking case is pending.

โHammad did not have permission, written or verbal, to be on campus from anyone at the Title IX Office or the police department,โ the arrest affidavit states.
Baylor suspendedย Hammad from the university and team activities as well, falling in line with school policy on felony cases. Hammad allegedly continued to contact an ex-girlfriend despite her taking "extensive measuresโ to keep him away. He allegedly followed her around campus and waited for her outside of classes before a professor contacted police.
The woman, who alleged past physical abuse by Hammad, moved out of the state because she no longer felt safe living near Baylor's campus. Anย Outside the Linesย investigative report indicated Hammad previously had a sexual assault claim made against him but was not charged with a crime.
"This is all Baylor's fault," the woman told ESPN.com'sย Paula Lavigne. "Had they taken my case slightly more seriously and put some kind of 'warning' on him, this wouldn't have happened. ... The mannerisms that she described are so similar. It's not just something I wanted to remember."
Baylor is currently being sued by multiple female students for Title IX violations related to alleged sexual assaults. Former head coach Art Briles, former president Ken Starr and former athletic director Ian McCaw each left the university amid the controversy.
On Monday,ย Title IX coordinator Patty Crawfordย announcedย her resignation over issuesย implementingย policies at Baylor.ย
