College Football Scores 2016: Week 5 Results and Top Stars for Top 25 Teams
The No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes were not about to play the role of cordial hosts when the Rutgers Scarlet Knights came calling to Columbus, Ohio.
Instead, head coach Urban Meyer had his team playing at peak efficiency as the Buckeyes trounced their New Jersey visitors by a 58-0 margin.

Rutgers was actually able to play it close in the first quarter, as Ohio State had just a 6-0 lead after the first 15 minutes. But quarterback J.T. Barrett was basically unstoppable after that, and that slim advantage turned into a 30-0 runaway by halftime.
Barrett had plenty of help from freshman running back Mike Weber who gained 144 yards on 14 attempts, including a 46-yarder early in the third quarter.
The Ohio State defense was on its game, as the Scarlet Knights never got past the Buckeyes 38-yard line. Rutgers was held to 33 passing yards in the game.
While it was a blowout in the Big Ten, it was an over-the-top wild finish in the Southeastern Conference.
The No. 11 Tennessee Volunteers shocked the No. 25 Georgia Bulldogs as quarterback Joshua Dobbs hit Jauan Jennings with a 43-yard TD pass on the game's final play to give the Vols a wild 34-28 victory in Athens, Georgia.
The Bulldogs had taken a 31-28 lead with just 10 seconds to play when quarterback Jacob Eason connected with wideout Riley Ridley on a 47-yard TD pass.
Georgia was hit with a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty as it celebrated the Ridley touchdown, and that allowed Tennessee to get the field position it needed to set up the winning touchdown.
Stars of the Week
QB J.T. Barrett, Ohio State
The competition may not have been elite, but Barrett was razor sharp as the Buckeyes took apart the Scarlet Knights.
Barrett completed 21 of 29 passes for 238 yards with four TD passes. In doing so, Barrett set a record for the most TD passes in Ohio State's long and vaunted history with 59 scoring tosses in 27 games.
Meyer touted his quarterback as one of the best players in the country. "There's no doubt he's a Heisman candidate," Meyer said after the game, per Mitch Stacy of the Associated Press (h/t ESPN.com).

RB Shock Linwood, Baylor
The Baylor Bears were on the wrong end of a 42-28 score after three quarters in their game at Iowa State, and it seemed inevitable that the Cyclones would pick up the victory.
However, Baylor rallied for 17 unanswered points in the final quarter, and Chris Callahan connected on the winning field goal as time expired.
The Bears would never have been in position to win if not for the brilliant showing of Linwood, who torched the Iowa State defense for 237 yards on 25 carries.
Linwood's performance came a week after he had just four yards last week. "That's the Shock Linwood everybody told me about," said Baylor interim head coach Jim Grobe according to Associated Press (h/t ESPN.com).

QB Mason Rudolph, Oklahoma State
One of the strangest streaks in college football came to an end Saturday as the Oklahoma State Cowboys picked up a 49-31 home victory over the No. 22 Texas Longhorns.
Oklahoma State had lost its previous eight games played in Stillwater against the Longhorns, but the Cowboys offense was on a roll in the first half with 37 points.
Rudolph was the trigger man behind the success, as he completed 19 of 28 passes for 392 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. Rudolph completed two of his scoring passes to Jalen McCleskey, and the quarterback also ran for a 10-yard touchdown in the second quarter.
QB Mitch Trubisky, North Carolina
The North Carolina Tar Heels picked up a dramatic 37-35 victory over the Florida State Seminoles as place-kicker Nick Weiler connected on a 54-yard field at the gun.
While Weiler deserves credit for coming through under pressure, Trubisky did the job throughout for the visitors.
Trubisky completed 31 of 38 passes for 405 yards with three touchdowns, and he did not throw an interception. Trubisky picked apart the Seminoles defense, and he dictated the pace from start to finish.
