Sunny Hospitalized and Arrested in Same Week

It's been a rough week for Tammy "Sunny" Sytch. The former WWE mainstay posted a message to Facebook on Sept. 17, talking about how she ended up in the hospital because of a cyst on her pancreas:

"

I have been in the hospital since Monday afternoon and we're not quite sure what's wrong yet. I had a cyst on my pancreas that was 1.5 cm in March, and they said if it got bigger it would need to drained, removed or have a stint put in. 

Well now it's 3 cm. double the size.   Also my gall bladder may need to come out.  I've been in constant abdominal pain for 5 days and bedridden because of it.  I have had a CT Scan with contrast , an MRI with contrast , and probably getting and endoscopy with ultrasound by Monday.

"

Unfortunately, the news kept getting worse. On Friday, Raj Giri of Wrestling Inc reported Sunny was arrested for violating her probation.

While everyone is responsible for themselves, it's hard not to sympathize with someone when they continually find themselves in bad positions. Hopefully Sunny can turn things around and get back to being a happy and healthy person.

WWE Signs Another Cruiserweight Classic Competitor

The latest incarnation of WWE's cruiserweight division officially kicked off Monday night, when Brian Kendrick won a Fatal 4-Way match to earn a shot at T.J. Perkins' Cruiserweight Championship at Clash of Champions.

WWE picked up several Superstars from the tournament to fill up the division, and it looks like the company is continuing to acquire talent to make it as competitive as it can be.

According to PWInsider (h/t Marc Middleton of Wrestling Inc), Lince Dorado has signed with WWE and will begin appearing on Raw as part of the cruiserweight division soon.

Dorado picked up a victory in the first round of the CWC over Mustafa Ali but ended up being eliminated in the second round by Rich Swann.

He was impressive in both performances, and his exciting brand of high-flying wrestling will fit right in alongside guys such as Cedric Alexander and Gran Metalik.

Dolph Ziggler Inducted into Kent State Hall of Fame

Dolph Ziggler's time as a record-breaking amateur wrestler at Kent State University has been well-documented during his WWE career, and he can now officially call himself a Hall of Famer.

WWE.com covered his induction into his alma mater's Varsity "K" Hall of Fame, noting his impressive stats and highlighting him as the winningest wrestler in the school's history when he graduated.

Ziggler has been known as a flashy performer for most of his career in pro wrestling, but he has been integrating more ground-based tactics into his strategy in recent months.

He just came off another disappointing loss to The Miz, marking his third failed attempt to win gold in the past two months. Hopefully WWE finds an interesting way to capitalize off his current storyline and pushes him back to the main event scene.

Former WWE Wrestler Cast in Netflix Wrestling Series

Netflix has been working for months on a series called G.L.O.W., which is named after the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling promotion.

The show will be a fictionalized account of how the series was made and will star comic legend Marc Maron and Community and Mad Men star Alison Brie.

The show is also picking up some actual wrestling talent. Deadline's Denise Petski reported Kia Stevens, who worked for TNA as Awesome Kong and WWE as Kharma, has joined the cast.

The show is the brainchild of Weeds and Orange Is the New Black creator Jenji Kohan. The cast list on IMDb also lists Chavo Guerrero as being part of two episodes.

This will be the first serious wrestling depiction since 2008's The Wrestler, starring Mickey Rourke. Fans have always wanted to see pro wrestling portrayed in a realistic light, and G.L.O.W. may just fill that void—at least when it comes to one specific promotion.

Final Clash of Champions Card

Raw will have its first brand-exclusive pay-per-view with Clash of Champions on Sunday. SmackDown got off to a good start with Backlash, so the Raw roster has its work cut out to top that event.
