Alli revealed he was delighted to sign the new contract:

Per the Times' Oliver Kay, Spurs only recently gave him a fresh deal at the club:

Alli enjoyed a breakout campaign with Tottenham last season after arriving from MK Dons and has already made 52 appearances for the club.

The 20-year-old notched 10 goals and 11 assists in all competitions and was one of Spurs' standout performers as they challenged Leicester City for the Premier League title, which earned him the PFA Young Player of the Year award.

Spurs also marked his contract by sharing one of his best highlights in a Tottenham shirt:

Per WhoScored.com, Alli has not only stood out among the young players in the Premier League but also around Europe as well:

That form also earned him a call-up to Roy Hodgson's England squad for UEFA Euro 2016, and he has cemented himself as an important figure for the Three Lions, making 13 appearances despite only enjoying his debut in October last year.

Alli marked his full bow for the senior side in style:

A hard-working and versatile midfielder, Alli can play as a No. 10 or in a deeper role. He's a strong dribbler, can carry the ball at pace and is a real attacking threat both creatively and going for goal himself.

His impressive understanding with Harry Kane further makes him a valuable asset to the club.

As he develops and their partnership grows, the pair will get stronger and stronger together, and the team as a whole will undoubtedly benefit.

Keeping the likes of Alli is vital if Tottenham are to continue challenging for the title rather than reverting to merely contenders for a European place—his new contract is an excellent bit of business.
