WWE NXT Results: Biggest Winners, Losers and Moments from September 14
Samoa Joe is at his best when he is portrayed as a remorseless killer of an athlete, punishing his rivals with brutality and ferocity and leaving them in a heap.
Wednesday night, he delivered a sneak attack on NXT champion Shinsuke Nakamura that left the titleholder in need of a stretcher and, in the process, earned "biggest winner" status for the broadcast.
The heel turn did wonders for Joe, who was a bland babyface going nowhere fast prior. It has allowed him to reintroduce his vicious and vile ways to the wrestling world and given his character renewed life.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
As he prepares to battle Nakamura in a rematch for the NXT Championship, one can only assume a call-up to the main roster is in his future.
Before then, he has a bit more to accomplish in NXT, including a defining performance with the brand. As good as he has been since arriving in May 2015, he lacks that one truly great match. Perhaps his next title showdown will be it.
Winner: Bobby Roode
Bobby Roode made a glorious television debut Wednesday night, battling No Way Jose in the night's main event. The former TNA star was crisp as he dispatched of the partying fan favorite.
The problem is Roode is in a bit of an unenviable position.
He is incredibly hot, thanks to a grand debut and a theme song that captured the attention of the internet, but he has no feud ready for him. He has dispatched of No Way Jose and Andrade Almas, and Hideo Itami is busy with Austin Aries. Samoa Joe and Shinsuke Nakamura are feuding too, leaving Roode with no obvious path to the TakeOver: Toronto in November.
As hot as he may be, the creative team must follow up on it before fans become disinterested and move on. While he was a winner Wednesday on the strength of his victory, he may be a long-term loser if his story is not figured out quickly.
Losers: The Authors of Pain

The Authors of Pain made a huge splash when they debuted back at TakeOver: The End in June, attacking American Alpha and setting themselves up as the bruisers of the tag team division.
Unfortunately, victories over Alpha and TM-61 have done nothing to advance them in their quest for tag team dominance, and the squash matches over unnamed talent have already grown stale, as witnessed Wednesday night.
They are physically impressive, a heavyweight pairing that bowls over competition with relative ease, yet they have no character development. Nor have their motivations for their actions been made public.
With much more interesting teams such as the aforementioned TM-61, The Revival and Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa also populating the tag team division, stealing the show more times than not, it may be difficult for The Authors of Pain to break through and into title contention in the foreseeable future.
