WWE Raw: Burning Questions to Address After September 5 Show
After a former rival returned to WWE Raw, Bayley finds herself displaced, the Women's Championship suddenly out of her reach for now.
Bayley scored her biggest win on the main roster to date on Monday's Raw. But that won't lead to a championship showdown with Charlotte. Instead, she's unsure what's in store for her at the Clash of Champions pay-per-view on Sept. 25.
A title shot awaits Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson at the PPV, but uncertainty surrounds their gimmick. Can they shed their clown suits before WWE fans give up on them?

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Monday's Raw left a number of other questions lingering in the audience's mind. How will Sheamus' battles with Cesaro affect him moving forward? What does the company have in mind for Bo Dallas?
Why Did Bo Dallas Get the Braun Strowman Treatment?
In one of the more out-of-the-blue moves WWE has made this year, Dallas steamrolled over a no-name opponent in his return to Raw.
This is the same Dallas who, as Mike Johnson noted on PWInsider.com, missed last week's show after police arrested him for public intoxication at the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. But rather than push him down the card as punishment, WWE elevated the third-generation wrestler after the incident.
He stormed into the ring, growled at a jobber named Kyle Roberts and proceeded to dominate him.
Why would the company suddenly feel compelled to showcase Dallas after beating him into the ground for so long? Even with Monday's win over Roberts, Dallas has a .111 winning percentage in 2016, per CageMatch.
One has to wonder if this is part of a bigger plan.
Maybe Dallas is going to get a shot at resurrection. Perhaps WWE is just trying to get Dallas some juice before he takes on Chinese NXT prospect Bin Wang in Shanghai, China, on Saturday.
WWE will be making an odd choice if the former Social Outcast's win on Monday night leads to anything more than that. Giving the more promising Neville a win over a tomato can would make more sense.
Will Sheamus Lose All the Momentum He Has Built?
Sheamus smashed Cesaro's back until he couldn't stand anymore on Monday's Raw. The win put The Celtic Warrior up 3-0 in their best-of-seven series.
In overpowering and outsmarting Cesaro, Sheamus has looked excellent. He now boasts three straight wins against a formidable opponent and has looked like a beast in the process.
But in the story ahead, will Sheamus end up worse off than he began? Should Cesaro win four straight, including the deciding match at Clash of Champions, the lasting image of the series will be The King of Swing doing the impossible and coming all the way back.
SiriusXM's Busted Open expressed concern about that scenario:
Narrative-wise, it makes plenty of sense to have Cesaro mirror the 2004 Boston Red Sox. That's the most dramatic story possible within this framework.
And catapulting Cesaro is a good move, as he seems ready to move into the WWE Universal Championship picture.
Sheamus may end up being collateral damage, though. The next few weeks could be filled with defeat after defeat for him. He may need to follow up this series with some squash matches of his own.
Can Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson Recover?
When their feud with The New Day is over, Gallows and Anderson will be lucky to not be complete laughingstocks.
WWE has stripped The Club of everything that made it compelling in New Japan Pro Wrestling. The bruisers have been asked to be court jesters, flailing around in ill-fitting comedy roles.
On Monday night, Gallows and Anderson delivered one of the worst segments in recent memory. They made fun of tag team champs The New Day by bringing out a trio of impostors dressed up like old men.
It bombed.
It's baffling that WWE continues to go this route with them. Kyle Fowle of The A.V. Club wrote: "Gallows and Anderson are stuck with a horrendous Attitude Era knockoff segment rather than just wanting to go after New Day's titles."
It's going to be hard to view them as threats or viable champions after seeing them stumble with their goofy shtick.
Can a great, hard-hitting match at Clash of Champions help fans forget all the genital jokes and potty humor? Will WWE realize that The Club is best suited to be a squad of destroyers?
Otherwise, Gallows and Anderson will soon be viewed in the same light as The Great Khali during his Punjabi Playboy stage.
Where Does Bayley Head Now?
While Sasha Banks recovered from a back injury, Bayley stepped in to be Charlotte's main rival.
The recent NXT call-up looked assured a title shot at Clash of Champions. Bayley had put together a modest winning streak to kick off her run on the main roster and then sealed the deal with a non-title victory over Charlotte on Monday's Raw.
But Banks complicated things later in the night. The Boss announced that she is now medically cleared and in line for a rematch against Charlotte.
Former WWE tag team champ Lance Storm is among those confused about the title situation:
Banks vs. Charlotte, though, is now official for Clash of Champions, per John Clapp of WWE.com. Where does that leave Bayley?
WWE could have her clash with Charlotte's bumbling protege, Dana Brooke, instead. That would make it easy to keep Bayley near the title picture after Clash of Champions.
The company's options beyond that are minimal. Summer Rae hasn't been around at all. Paige is serving a 30-day suspension for violating the company's talent wellness policy. And it would be counterproductive to have Nia Jax and Bayley meet at this point.
WWE is trying to build the former up as a monster and the latter as a top-notch babyface. It can't do both if they collide in a few weeks.
Bayley vs. Charlotte was shaping up to be an intriguing bout. Fans of the hug-happy Superstar may instead have to settle on the far less appealing Bayley-Brooke clash. At least for now.
Championship opportunities are coming her way. Just not at the next PPV.
