Manchester United Transfer News: David De Gea, Real Madrid Offer, Latest Rumours
Manchester United have reportedly revealed they have once again rejected a bid from Real Madrid to sign Red Devils' No. 1 goalkeeper David De Gea.
According to Jeremy Cross of the Daily Star, Real returned this summer for De Gea, 25, after missing out on signing the Spaniard last year. But they have failed in their move, which is yet another blow to Los Blancos after they were beaten to the signing of Paul Pogba by United.
De Gea's proposed move to the Santiago Bernabeu from United last summer collapsed on transfer deadline day with both clubs blaming the other for the breakdown, per Sky Sports.

In the aftermath, the Spain international penned a new four-year contract with United, tying him to the club until 2019.
Despite United's struggles in 2015-16 under manager Louis van Gaal, De Gea enjoyed another excellent season individually.
He has been far and away the Red Devils' best player since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013, and he has saved them from dropping too far down the Premier League table, per the Daily Telegraph's James Ducker:
It is no surprise, then, that United have rejected another attempt by Real to snap him up, and with Jose Mourinho now in charge at Old Trafford, and major names having come in to bolster the squad, De Gea will surely be more inclined to remain for the long haul.
Ducker previously reported the Portuguese manager's arrival at the Manchester outfit would make it much more likely De Gea would remain than if Van Gaal had not left the club.
While Real could offer him UEFA Champions League football and an almost guaranteed shot at the Liga title in 2016-17, it should not be long before United are again competing on the same level.
They will be in the UEFA Europa League this coming season after finishing fifth in the English top flight last term, but they are well fancied to win the 2016-17 Premier League title after Mourinho's arrival and excellent summer business, per Paul Wilson of the Guardian.

De Gea will hope the addition of centre-back Eric Bailly will make for a more sturdy back four in front of him this season, while Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are all top-quality additions who should make United a greater threat going forward.
Real No. 1 Keylor Navas stepped up with an impressive 2015-16 season after Los Blancos missed out on De Gea last August, and the Spaniard would likely have to compete with the Costa Rican for his place were he to move to the Bernabeu.
There is no chance of that being the case at Old Trafford, where the Spaniard is the undisputed No. 1.
With United having held firm again over De Gea and beaten Real to Pogba, it seems the Spanish giants' long-term influence in the transfer market may be waning, especially as they no longer hold the world-record transfer fee.
