Jese Rodriguez to PSG: Latest Transfer Details, Reaction and More
Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of Real Madrid forward Jese Rodriguez, it was confirmed on Monday.
Real Madrid revealed a move for the 23-year-old had been finalised via their official website. Sky Sports provided a translation, adding that the deal is for five years.
According to AS (h/t Football Espana), the contract also contains a clause that prevents PSG from selling Jese to Real's archrivals Barcelona.

Speaking at the player's unveiling, both Jese and club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi expressed their delight the transfer was done, per Bleacher Report's Jonathan Johnson:
The move brings an end to Jese’s stint at Real Madrid, having spent nine years with the club. The man from Las Palmas joined the Los Blancos academy in 2007, making his debut for the first team in 2011.
The Spain international was tipped to achieve great things with the Madrid outfit. Here is a look at why he was so popular among the club’s supporters:
During the 2013-14 season, Jese was impressive under the tutelage of manager Carlo Ancelotti. His versatility in the forward line meant he was a superb option to call upon from the bench. His willingness to run at defenders, fire shots at goal and work hard made him a huge asset.

However, at the end of the campaign, Jese tore his anterior cruciate ligament and has never quite reached the same levels since. He was unable to cement a spot in the Real Madrid team, and with the likes of Lucas Vazquez pushing past him in the pecking order, a transfer always appeared to be in the cards this summer.
Bleacher Report’s Sam Tighe believes the Spaniard has a lot to prove following this switch:
David Cartlidge of beIN Sports doesn't believe Jese is a big loss for Real:
It’s going to be fascinating to see how he fits into Unai Emery’s PSG side. The Ligue 1 giants lost Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer and are in need of a player who provides a spark in the attacking third. The new manager, who saw Jese firsthand during his time in Spain, may feel he can provide it.
Edinson Cavani is likely to lead the line for the Parisians next term, meaning their new signing is set to battle for a place on the flanks with Angel Di Maria and Lucas Moura. That’ll be tough, but first-team chances are more likely to materialise in Paris than they were in Madrid.
The opportunity is there for Jese to kick-start his career again, and sports journalist Lucas Navarrete is unsure if this is a good deal for Real:
But the move is certainly beneficial for the footballer. PSG may be overwhelmingly dominant on the domestic front, but they’re a team seeking to challenge for the UEFA Champions League this season. It’s an ambitious project and one Jese will be excited to be part of.
The transfer means another player at Real has failed to make the step up from their academy to cement a regular spot in the starting XI. That’ll be disappointing to the supporters, but in the case of Jese, an ill-timed injury layoff proved hugely detrimental to his chances of becoming a big hit at the Santiago Bernabeu.
