Saturday Recap

The defending champions are still alive after Overseas Elite earned a 74-66 win over Trained To Go.

Overseas Elite didn't have a great start to the game. Although they held a 37-36 halftime lead, they shot 12-of-34 from the field and 5-of-14 from three-point range.

The Basketball Tournament's Twitter account shared a replay of Myck Kabongo's motivational speech to his teammates in the huddle:

The talk worked, as the team was 11-of-26 from the field in the second half and held Trained To Go to 30 points.

DJ Kennedy narrowly missed out on a double-double, scoring 18 points and grabbing nine rebounds. Errick McCollum II chipped in with 14 points, while Jhondre Jefferson put up nine points and five rebounds in his 18 minutes on the floor.

Nine-year NBA veteran Damien Wilkins posted 11 points and eight rebounds, and Brandon Robinson led Trained To Go with 15 points.

The last No. 1 seed standing, City of Gods, was also victorious Saturday, beating The Untouchables, 86-79.

City of Gods rebounded impressively after going into halftime down 42-29. In the second half, they missed only seven of their 22 field-goal attempts and connected on seven three-pointers.

The Untouchables' Ricky Harris was disappointed to come out on the losing end after the bright start:

Five players scored in double figures for City of Gods, with Pops Mensah-Bonsu being the standout performer. He scored 13 points, collected six rebounds and blocked two shots.

Xavier Silas had the hot hand. He led all scorers with 20 points on 4-of-7 shooting. He also made all 10 of his free throws. City of Basketball Love's Josh Verlin noted Silas' three-pointer late in the game helped seal the win:

Despite using a thin squad, Team Colorado advanced with an 83-78 win over Team Utah.

Marcus Hall led the team with 22 points and was one of two Team Colorado players to be on the floor for 32 of the game's 36 minutes. Hall added six rebounds and four assists to his strong all-around game. Fellow Colorado Buffaloes alumnus Spencer Dinwiddie praised his work in the game:

Calvin Williams' 10 points and 11 rebounds also played a pivotal role in the victory, while Austin Dufault and Dominique Coleman scored 17 and 16 points, respectively.

On the other side, Dakarai Tucker's 15 points paced Team Utah, while Shaun Green, Terrence Drisdom and Bryant Markson each scored 13 points.

Always A Brave wrapped up the final spot in the semifinals, beating Golden Eagles Alumni, 89-81. The Basketball Tournament shared the team's celebration after the game:

Marcellus Sommerville scored a game-high 25 points and was one of four Always A Brave starters to score in double figures. Daniel Ruffin led the offense, dishing out seven assists on the night.

Always A Brave shot 57.1 percent from the field and needed that efficiency to counter the Golden Eagles, who collectively knocked down 13 three-pointers.

The Basketball Tournament semifinals will take place July 30 in New York City. City of Gods will take on Overseas Elite in the first game, and Team Colorado will face off against Always A Brave to close out the round.

The event will conclude with a $2 million winner-takes-all championship game Aug. 2.
