Recap
Mighty Mike came into Tuesday's match against Anderson in superb form and continued his sensational run early, taking out the opening five legs.
The defending champion hit 180s in the first three legs before his opponent finally got on the board with an excellent 160 checkout, but it wasn't long until another ton finish had the Dutchman leading 9-2 and on the verge of the next round.
Anderson gave some late resistance, and Van Gerwen was a little sloppy finishing the contest. But as bet365 shared, his stats for the tournament so far still look incredible:
He'll face his first real hurdle in the quarter-finals, as the in-form Chizzy will be waiting.
Chisnall became the first man to qualify for the quarter-finals, cruising to an impressive 11-2 win over Thornton. PDC Darts shared the final shot that booked his ticket:
Chizzy put together a fine showing, finishing with an average of just under 100 and converting 42 percent of his doubles. The Thorn's average was over 10 points fewer, and he hit on only two of his 15 chances to check out.
From the first dart, it was clear Thornton was no match for Chizzy, who won seven of the first eight legs and averaged 112 at one point. Several 180s and a brilliant 132 finish on the bull powered his run, which finally ended in the ninth, when the Thorn took out 130 on the bull.

That would the last leg he took, however, as Chisnall landed his fourth 180 to take the next leg and took advantage of some poor finishing from his opponent to grab a quick win in the first match of the night.
Live Darts shared some of the stats behind the win:
The ever-flamboyant Wright stole the show in the second match of the night, both with his play and his looks. ESPN's Darren Rovell was glad he at least coordinated his outfit:
But Snakebite's play was just as bright as his hair. The Scotsman took out 116 to grab the first leg and pushed his advantage to a three-leg lead before White finally got on the board. He continued his fine play to extend his lead to 7-2, and an 86 finish brought him within a single leg of the quarter-finals.
White took the next three legs, taking out double 10 to cut the deficit to four, but even eight 180s weren't enough to save Diamond, who succumbed in the next leg.
As shared by PDC Darts, Wright was as confident as ever looking ahead:
The final match of the night was the grudge match between Lewis and Price, who had an altercation on social media ahead of their clash after some choice words from the former, per Sky Sports.
Jackpot didn't seem to care all that much, running out to a quick 3-0 lead before Price finally got on the board. The underdog took the final leg before the break, but Lewis came out firing to start the second session.
Fans were loving the tense atmosphere between the two, and so was PDC Darts:
A missed opportunity from Price in the 10th leg, where he failed to check out on 14, handed Jackpot a 7-3 lead, and he moved within one leg of the next round with a ton checkout. He missed double 13 for a phenomenal 146 finish but eventually crossed the finish line.
Via Live Darts, he took a parting shot at his opponent:
Phil Taylor, who has won the tournament a record 15 times, will be in action on Wednesday, as will two-time world champion Gary Anderson.
