Wellington Silva to Fluminense: Latest Transfer Details, Reaction and More
Wellington Silva's return to Brazilian club Fluminense was confirmed on Tuesday following a six-and-a-half-year spell for the winger at Arsenal during which he failed to turn out once for the Gunners first team.
Fluminense welcomed the 23-year-old Brazilian back to the club on their Twitter feed:

Per ESPN FC, Rio de Janeiro-born Silva's failure to secure a work permit upon his arrival at the Emirates in 2010 saw him sent out on loan to Levante, Alcoyano, Ponferradina, Murcia and Almeria.
He finally received his work permit last term but was again loaned out—to Bolton Wanderers—and he said upon his return to Fluminense that he was happy to be back at his youth-team club, per ESPN FC:
"I am very happy. I want to thank Fluminense for this opportunity after so long to go back, I'm eager to start. I am very anxious, really it is like the first time.
[My] desire to return has always existed. When I learned that it was possible I was nervous for 10 days.
I am very happy and I have no words to thank. Now I have to train and get on to the field as quickly as possible.
"
The Times' Nicholas Godden provided a summary of Silva's Arsenal career:
Brazilian football writer Rupert Fryer branded Arsenal's decision to sign Silva—for a reported £3.5 million—a "disaster."
Undoubtedly it was far from a successful move, and his return to Fluminense will surely be beneficial for all involved.
In 22 Championship appearances for Bolton in 2015-16, Silva predominantly turned out on the left flank, netting two goals and providing two assists, per WhoScored.com.
Given that Alexis Sanchez is Arsenal's key man on the left—and is well backed up Alex Iwobi and Danny Welbeck in the current Gunners squad—it is unlikely Silva would have broken into the first team had he remained in north London.
He is clearly delighted to be returning to Rio and is unlikely to be missed at Arsenal following a problematic Gunners career.
