7 Real Madrid Players Who Would Benefit from a Loan Move in 2016/17
Real Madrid haven't been slow in arranging loan deals for several of their younger players this summer, aiming to ensure they develop either in La Liga or further afield as they try to secure one or two talents for future seasons while also making the most of the world-class options already in the senior squad.
The likes of Jesus Vallejo, Diego Llorente and Burgui have already secured their temporary moves for 2016-17, but there are more who are on the fringes of the first team but won't benefit from playing with the B team, Castilla, in the third tier of Spanish football.

Here are seven players who could benefit from a loan move away, six of whom will almost certainly spend the upcoming campaign away from the Santiago Bernabeu once competitive action gets underway in August.
Danilo
He's the least likely to get a move away of those listed, as he will play an important role in giving depth to the first team, but there's no question Danilo could benefit from a season away from the at times toxic attitude of the Santiago Bernabeu toward him.
After a good start last season, the right-back quickly fell out of favour. An early injury and then some dreadful defensive work saw him bear the brunt of much of the supporters' fury—when it wasn't aimed at then-manager Rafa Benitez or president Florentino Perez, at least.
Danilo will be backup to Dani Carvajal this term, but he's a million miles from making good on Real's €31.5 million investment on him. At best, a loan would see him return to top form and confidence, but even if the club didn't take him back next term, his resale value could at least be boosted.
Lucas Silva
Brazilian midfielder Lucas Silva had an awful time of things last term, going on loan to Olympique Marseille and barely featuring.

The central midfielder was all set for a loan to Sporting Lisbon for the forthcoming season, but a heart problem was detected during his medical—and Silva announced an enforced retirement. However, as reported by Marca, he underwent another medical in Lisbon to determine the extent of the arrhythmia, and it appears a period of rest before resuming training will be sufficient to overcome the issue.
Naturally, his health will come first, but assuming he returns to full-time playing, Silva certainly needs a loan move away. He's nowhere near the first XI for Real Madrid in a stacked area of the pitch, and he has essentially lost out on two years of his career of late because he's not been favoured by coaches.
A move to a team with whom he can play every week must be the No. 1 priority.
Enzo Fernandez
The 21-year-old midfielder Enzo Fernandez will form part of Real Madrid's pre-season tour squad, but the likelihood of him featuring at senior level in competitive matches is remote.
Having not made his debut for the first team at 21 is indicative both of the quality available in the Real squad and his own performance level. A season with a top-flight side is an absolute must if he is to prove himself anywhere near capable of making the breakthrough.
Enzo spent last term in the third tier of Spanish football with Castilla, well below the required level to make the breakthrough ahead of the likes of Toni Kroos or Luka Modric. He needs to temporarily move elsewhere in Spain to showcase the level he is at.
Martin Odegaard
Much like Enzo but rather younger and more prominent in European football is Martin Odegaard.

His trial tour prior to signing for Real Madrid gathered more public notice and headlines than his playing career has done so far, and while he'll be part of the squad for the International Champions Cup, he's another who is under the radar at present.
An attacking midfielder not only competing with Modric and Co. centrally but Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo and the other offensive-minded players who feature from the sides of the attack, the 17-year-old Odegaard might be a full international with Norway but has made no impact on Real's first team.
A loan to the Bundesliga or another Primera Division club appears the best bet for him this term in order for him to get playing time, find his place among veterans of the game and begin to make good on his ability.
Raul de Tomas and Mariano Diaz
Two strikers from Castilla who won't feature for Real Madrid's first team this season are Raul de Tomas and Mariano Diaz.
Marca reported at the turn of the year that Mariano's new contract included notice that he would train with the first team this season, but Alvaro Morata's return means game time will still be at a premium.
He would gain nothing from playing in the Segunda B once again and turns 23 at the start of August. That's far too old to be a mere prospect, but Diego Llorente is 22 and Lucas Vazquez was still out on loan at the same age. So this year, with a productive temporary spell away, could see him brought into consideration for the 2017-18 season.
Raul, meanwhile, is 21 and faces a big year; he needs to make an impact in the Segunda Division or in La Liga on loan to have any chance of staying at Real Madrid long term.
Marco Asensio
Finally, one player who would grace Real's shirt this season were he given the chance is Marco Asensio, a star last term on loan at Espanyol who is set for a bigger club this campaign.

He will travel with Real on their pre-season tour but has not been given a squad number, indicating a move is certain.
Despite that, his talent is clear, and Real's admiration of Asensio is obvious given they opted to hand him a long-term contract extension this summer, per Carlos Carpio of Marca, before he has made his competitive debut for the club.
He'll be even better for a second season of continuous football and is comfortably the player on this list with the biggest chance of having an impact on Real's first team for many seasons to come.
