Police Negotiate with Man Threatening Jump at Tottenham Hotspur's New Stadium
Police have spent 12 hours negotiating with a man "threatening to jump" from a 100-foot tall crane at the construction site of Tottenham Hotspur's new stadium on Tuesday.
According to Tom Powell of the London Evening Standard, the man climbed the crane at around 6:30 p.m. BST on Monday, prompting emergency services to follow in an attempt to talk him down.
Per Powell, the Metropolitan police said: "There are officers in attendance, and they are attempting to negotiate with the man."

The Evening Standard shared a picture of the scene, with emergency vehicles in attendance:
Six emergency service officers—comprised of police, paramedics and firefighters—spent the night in the cabin of the crane.
It is thought the man was able to get into the site—which was secured and is managed by construction firm Mace—by "charging the gate."
Per Powell, a spokesperson for Spurs said: "Mace are dealing with a situation with a local man who had accessed the building site. The individual is known to local police, who are on site to assist."
A witness to the scene, Chloe Fletcher, said it was "horrible." She added: "Police cars are everywhere. Loads of people are just standing around, waiting and looking up."
There are six other such cranes adorning the site, which is situated next to White Hart Lane.
Spurs' new stadium is expected to cost around £500 million and will seat 61,100 supporters. It is scheduled to be ready by 2018.
