NBA Summer League 2016: Tuesday Schedule, Latest Las Vegas Standings and Stats
While the NBA Summer League doesn't officially count, plenty of players and teams are taking advantage of the opportunity to showcase their abilities.
The action is just getting started in Las Vegas with most teams completing just two or three games in the first four days. Still, we have learned quite a bit from watching young prospects making their first few appearances at the professional level.
There is a lot to watch heading into Tuesday, the final scheduled day of competition before the playoffs begin. Here is everything you need to know going into Day 5 in Las Vegas.
Tuesday Schedule
| 4 p.m. | Washington Wizards vs. Brooklyn Nets | CSN |
| 4:30 p.m. | Portland Trail Blazers vs. Utah Jazz | NBATV |
| 6 p.m. | Boston Celtics vs. Dallas Mavericks | ESPN2 |
| 6:30 p.m. | Miami Heat vs. Phoenix Suns | NBATV |
| 8 p.m. | San Antonio Spurs vs. Chicago Bulls | ESPN |
| 8:30 p.m. | Philadelphia 76ers vs. Golden State Warriors | NBATV |
A pair of 2-0 teams will battle for good seeds in the knockout round as the San Antonio Spurs take on the Chicago Bulls. These two organizations are usually known for their veterans, but all of a sudden, they have two of the more interesting lineups in Las Vegas.
The Spurs are led by Kyle Anderson, who is going into his third season and hoping to earn a bigger role next year. While he has been one of the top players in summer league to this point, he isn't thinking much about it:
While the Bulls have more of a balanced approach offensively, young power forward Bobby Portis is the player to watch on this roster.
The Boston Celtics will also be in action with one of the more intriguing rosters in the field. No. 3 overall pick Jaylen Brown has struggled to this point (3-of-19 from the field), but Guerschon Yabusele, Jordan Mickey, R.J. Hunter, James Young and plenty of others are hoping to show they deserve a role in the rotation next season.
With the Phoenix Suns also in action, featuring two top-10 picks in Dragan Bender and Marquese Chriss, it will be an exciting day of action.

It's hard to separate so many teams in just a few games, so the standings also go down to the results by quarters. Each squad gets one point for winning a quarter and a half-point for being tied at the end of a quarter.
As you can see, the Toronto Raptors have had a pretty impressive run to this point. Not only have they won all three of their contests, but they have also had the advantage in nine of their 12 quarters, including a 16-6 run in the second quarter of Monday's game against the Dallas Mavericks.
Norman Powell has been the real star of the show, but the play of first-round pick Jakob Poeltl also has to be encouraging.
The Spurs, Bulls, Suns and surprisingly the Brooklyn Nets all have a chance to go for a 3-0 record on Tuesday.

Second-year players Trey Lyles and Devin Booker, both out of Kentucky, had solid rookie seasons but have the talent to make major leaps next season. Based on what they have shown so far in the summer league, their teams have got to be excited.

The same could be said about D'Angelo Russell and Kelly Oubre, who both struggled with consistency this past season but obviously have the ability to dominate.
However, perhaps the most interesting player so far in Las Vegas is Thon Maker. The No. 10 pick in the 2016 draft was considered a reach due to his rawness, but he has showcased his upside so far for the Milwaukee Bucks. Eric Bossi of Rivals.com is one of many who has liked what he has seen:
In three games, Maker is averaging 14 points, 12 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game. Then again, he still needs improvement in some areas, as Kurt Helin of Pro Basketball Talk noted:
He's not going to get 10 fouls in a normal NBA game, so he needs to work on his discipline defensively along with his consistency on the offensive end. Still, the early returns have been solid.
