Liverpool Transfer News: Ante Coric Bid Reported, Latest on Joe Allen Rumours
Liverpool have reportedly lodged a €15 million (£12.8 million) bid for Dinamo Zagreb's 19-year-old midfielder Ante Coric, with Reds manager Jurgen Klopp eager to seal a deal before the end of the month.
Per Croatian outlet Tportal (via Jamie Styles in the Daily Star), Coric netted eight goals and provided 13 assists as Zagreb won the title last season, tempting Klopp to make a move for him.
The report added that Manchester City are also interested in the young playmaker, but Liverpool could have the edge due to "the greater opportunities of first-team action on offer at Anfield."

Klopp is preparing to begin his first full season in charge of Liverpool, and Croatia international Coric could fit in well to his front line.
As can be seen in the video below, the youngster is creative and unafraid to run at defences, and he could link up well in Liverpool's attack with the likes of Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho:
Coric's recent excellent performances for Zagreb earned him a call-up to the 23-man Croatia squad for Euro 2016.
While he spent all of Croatia's campaign as an unused substitute, the fact that he made the squad is indicative of his potential.
Klopp has a history of converting promising youngsters into excellent players, and it would be exciting to see how he works with Coric should he join the Anfield outfit.

Elsewhere, Sevilla have reportedly dropped their interest in signing Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen after being put off by the £14 million price tag Klopp has placed on the Welshman.
Per Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo (via Styles), Allen's performances at Euro 2016 to help Wales reach the semi-finals have pushed his value up, and Sevilla "simply can’t afford" to shell out such a fee.
Allen has only a year left on his current Anfield contract and "has seemingly been deemed surplus to requirements" as he sits behind James Milner, Emre Can, Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson in the pecking order, per Styles.
There are many who believe Allen should be given more of a chance at Liverpool, including TalkSport's Stan Collymore:
And the Reds hierarchy may yet decide to keep Allen on, especially if, like Sevilla, no club comes in to meet his £14 million price tag.
