Telesco Comments on Bosa's Recovery

Thursday, Sept. 8

"Obviously, we're not optimistic right now," Chargers general manager Tom Telesco said, per Eric D. Williams of ESPN.com. "It truly is a day-to-day injury. It's a minor hamstring, and our goal is to make sure it doesn't turn into something long term."

Bosa Among League's Most Promising Rookies

After ranking just 24th in sacks during the 2015 season, the Bolts decided to make Bosa the first non-quarterback to be selected in the 2016 NFL draft.

The two-time All-American at Ohio State registered 26 sacks and 51 tackles for a loss during his three-year collegiate career and was viewed by most as the best pure pass-rusher in his class.

While quarterback Philip Rivers has helped keep the Chargers competitive in recent years, their defense has been an issue and was the primary reason they finished among the NFL's worst teams in 2015.

The team selected Bosa with the hope that he'd become a game-changing performer on the defensive side of the ball, but his injury woes could force San Diego to look elsewhere until he shows he's back to full strength.

Bosa is a supreme talent who commands attention from the offensive line whenever he is on the field, and the Chargers defense will be glad to welcome him back.
