Denzel Valentine to Bulls: Twitter Reacts as SF Is Selected in 2016 NBA Draft
Denzel Valentine emerged as one of the best players in college basketball during his senior year with the Michigan State Spartans. The 22-year-old will hope to have similar success in the NBA after the Chicago Bulls selected him with the 14th overall pick in the 2016 draft.
Valentine averaged 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds and 7.8 assists per game for Michigan State in his senior year.
The Orange County Register's Dan Woike is high on the Spartans star:
ESPN's Skip Bayless believes Chicago got great value:

Here are some more of the best reactions on draft night:
One long-term concern for Valentine could be his knees. In his mock draft on June 16, CBSSports.com's Gary Parrish reported the Spartans star has a "fairly significant knee issue." Valentine missed time in his senior season after having arthroscopic surgery to repair torn cartilage in his left knee.
He doesn't think his knees will present a problem in the future, though.
"It's really funny to me how it's being brought up because I don't see it as a concern," he said Wednesday, per Matt Velazquez of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "Some doctors may see it. Some don't. I don't see it as a concern. I'm going to do everything in my power to stay healthy."
ESPN's Jeff Goodman thought the talk about Valentine's knees was much ado about nothing:
Goodman's colleague J.A. Adande does question whether the Bulls of all teams want to take the risk:
Valentine was a 43 percent three-point shooter over his final two years at Michigan State. Although he'll likely play the 3 at the next level, Valentine is also a good ball-handler, which will make him valuable in the pick-and-roll.
Teams aren't expecting to find future All-Stars in the middle of the first round. Assuming Valentine remains healthy over the course of his NBA career, he should emerge at the very least as a steady role player. Getting that with the 14th selection is a good move for Chicago.
