Keith Thurman vs. Shawn Porter: Fight Time, Date, Live Stream and TV Info
On Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, one of the most anticipated welterweight fights of the year will take place. WBA champion Keith "One Time" Thurman (26-0, 22 KOs) will defend his title against former titleholder Showtime Shawn Porter (26-1-1, 16 KOs).
The bout will be the first prime-time boxing match televised by CBS since Muhammad Ali fought Leon Spinks in 1978.
Because of its historical significance and the quality of the fighters, this is one of the biggest boxing events of the year.

Thurman and Porter's scrap was supposed to take place on March 12, but Thurman was injured in a car accident and the fight was postponed.
Per Sports Illustrated, Thurman says the stiff neck that was bothering him after the accident is fully healed, and he's ready to go.

Porter has been out of the ring for over a year. In his last fight, he won a unanimous decision over Adrien Broner in June 2015. Porter was dropped by a hard left hook in the 12th round, but he survived and won a clear decision.
Thurman hasn't been out of the ring quite as long, but he ran into some difficulties in his last fight. Back in July 2015, Thurman got all he could handle from veteran southpaw Luis Collazo.

Thurman was hurt by a body shot in the fifth round. The punch was hard enough to drop him, but One Time didn't go down. He weathered the storm and opened up a cut over Collazo's eye in the seventh that forced the proud Puerto Rican fighter to quit on the stool between rounds.
So who wins when Thurman and Porter finally step in the ring with each other?
Floyd Mayweather Sr. has a blunt take: “Keith Thurman is going to beat the hell out of him,” Mayweather told Tru School Sports. “All he has to do is shoot the right hand down the pipe, and Shawn Porter, more than likely, is going to hit the ground. Porter is not a fast fighter, and that’s where the right hand is going to come right down the middle.”
Current 140-pound champion and pound-for-pound contender Terence Crawford favors Porter.
“I’m leaning toward Shawn Porter,” Crawford told Josh Katzowitz of Forbes. “His form and his aggression will be tough for Keith Thurman if Thurman can’t land that one big punch. If he can, who knows how well Shawn Porter will take his power? But if you can’t land the punch, you can’t hurt the man in front of you.”
Thurman's length and power against Porter's athleticism and pressure is a formula for a memorable fight. For the sport's sake, let's hope the matchup delivers.
