Ronaldo Becomes 1st to Score in 4 Different European Championships
Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo became the first-ever footballer to record a goal in four different UEFA European Championships when he found the back of the net during Wednesday's 3-3 draw with Hungary, per ESPN Stats & Info.
One of the world's greatest stars perhaps came into Wednesday's game eager to reassert his dominance. His sustained success over the soccer landscape for the past decade apparently not enough, Ronaldo had endured some criticism for his seemingly absent performances in the early stages of group play.
But when his team needed him most, Ronaldo answered.

In the 50th minute, Ronaldo finessed an incoming cross with his right heel from about eight yards out to equal the score at 2-2.
However, that would not be Ronaldo's most important goal. In the 62nd minute, Ronaldo found space in the box and used his head to rocket the ball past the outstretched arms of Hungarian goalie Gabor Kiraly.
A loss on Wednesday would have eliminated Portugal from advancing to the knockout stage. Thanks to Ronaldo's record-setting day that included two goals and an assist, the Portuguese moved on to face Croatia on Saturday.
Though unable to pad his goal total in a dismal contest, Ronaldo did take the shot that led to Ricardo Quaresma's headed goal off a rebound in the 116th minute, giving Portugal a 1-0 victory and setting up a match against Poland in the quarter-final round on June 30.
