Jabari Parker Trade Rumors: Latest Buzz and Speculation on Bucks Star

Milwaukee Bucks forward Jabari Parker has reportedly enticed at least one NBA team, the Boston Celtics, according to Marc Stein of ESPN.com.

Bucks Aren't Interested in Trading Parker

The Celtics have reportedly offered a trade package involving the No. 3 pick to the Bucks for either Parker or Khris Middleton, according to Stein.

They have rebuffed those advances, however, "since the Bucks regard both of those young cornerstones, as well as Giannis Antetokounmpo, as untouchables," per Stein. 

Parker, 21, averaged 14.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 31.7 minutes per game in his second season after his 2014-15 rookie season was limited to just 25 games due to a torn ACL. 

He showed no lingering effects from that injury in the second half of the season, averaging 18.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.1 steals per game after the All-Star break. 

It's hardly surprising that the Bucks would decline to trade Parker. He's versatile enough to play both forward positions, and he already has an excellent mid-range game. He'll be a force to be reckoned with if he develops more consistency from beyond the arc (he shot a woeful 25.7 percent from three last season).

He also helps to form one of the NBA's most intriguing young cores alongside Antetokounmpo, Middleton and Michael Carter-Williams. The Bucks are set up to be competitive for years to come with that trio, and Antetokounmpo and Parker give the Bucks a versatile, unique pair of forwards.

It would be surprising, then, if the Bucks gave up on Parker after just two seasons. He's shown the upside that made him the No. 2 overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft, especially down the stretch last season. Barring a huge offer, it's hard to imagine Milwaukee trading its promising young forward.
