WWE Money in the Bank 2016: Final Card Predictions
WWE Money in the Bank is often one of the most compelling shows on the calendar, but the 2016 edition has the potential to be the best yet.
Talk rightly refers back to 2011 when deliberating the best Money in the Bank show, but with so much talent across several huge matches, it's hard not to get excited about Sunday's event.
What's more, the actual outcomes of the bouts are all fairly tricky to predict, especially at the top end of the card.
With intrigue and excitement on the cards for Sunday night, here's a final round of predictions for Money in the Bank 2016.
Undercard Matches
1 of 5Sheamus vs. Apollo Crews
This was one of two matches moved up from the pre-show, and if nothing else, it will be good pay-per-view exposure for Crews.
This feud has been given limited television time, so it has yet to properly get going, but it was at least great to see Crews show some aggression when he attacked Sheamus after The Celtic Warrior's match with Zack Ryder on the go-home edition of Raw.
Crews has not shown enough of a ruthless edge since moving to the main roster, and with the company high on him in the hope he has a big future, he will chalk up a win here.
Prediction: Apollo Crews
Baron Corbin vs. Dolph Ziggler
Unlike Sheamus vs. Apollo Crews, the other match that has been moved to the main show has gone on for too long.
It's clear WWE Creative is waiting for the brand split to get Baron Corbin's WWE run up and running for real.
He's nearly lost all of the momentum he picked up at WrestleMania, and the repetition this feud has provided has done neither of these two competitors any favors.
As for the outcome here, if this is the feud's final bout, it has to end with Corbin winning. His losing the feud would be a crushing blow to his future.
Prediction: Baron Corbin
Midcard Matches
2 of 5Rusev vs. Titus O'Neil
The Bulgarian Brute is trying to pick up momentum again after a disappointing booking period.
He looks strong and dominant, but it's almost possible to forget the underwhelming storylines he has been plagued with over the last year or so.
To that end, it would be hard to see WWE throw away that momentum again by having him drop the United States Championship to Titus O'Neil.
Prediction: Rusev
Charlotte and Dana Brooke vs. Becky Lynch and Natalya
This is one of the more difficult matches on the entire card to call because it's difficult to work out what this mini-rivalry is all about.
It's probably a case of WWE not being sure who Charlotte will be feuding with at SummerSlam, although Sasha Banks remains the favorite.
The outcome of this match will do little for anyone involved, but it feels more important for Charlotte to be on the winning team to keep her strong run as champion going.
Prediction: Charlotte and Dana Brooke
The New Day vs. The Vaudevillains vs. Enzo and Cass vs. The Club
Who gets the honor of leading WWE's New Era in the tag division? That question will be answered on Sunday as The New Day either continues its domination of the division moving into the summer, or the title moves to new owners.
Of the contenders in the field, The Club seems like the standout choice. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson have the potential to take the division to another level, and putting The New Day back into chase mode could bring a more serious edge to its role with the company once again.
WWE would be wise to go with The Club vs. The New Day for SummerSlam, as they're the division's top two teams. Expect the champions to keep hold of their titles for at least a few more weeks here, though.
Prediction: The New Day
John Cena vs. AJ Styles
3 of 5A dream match in the eyes of many will take place this Sunday when two wrestling giants collide at Money in the Bank.
There is already speculation about how this rivalry could and should go. Some believe that, with WWE billing it as a high-profile dream match, it should only happen this once and come to an end after Money in the Bank.
However, with the brand split on the horizon, there is every possibility John Cena and AJ Styles could go to SmackDown and head that show as the top babyface and heel, respectively.
So expect it to run beyond Money in the Bank, and if there are to be more matches between the two, it adds weight to the possibility Styles will win on Sunday.
He needs the win more, and by proving he can beat Cena on his own, it sets up another meeting at Battleground.
Prediction: AJ Styles
2016 Money in the Bank Ladder Match
4 of 5WWE has had some superb Money in the Bank ladder matches in recent years, but there is no reason why 2016 can't be the best yet for several reasons.
First of all, there's the possibility of a late swerve and someone being added to the match. A name like Bray Wyatt or Randy Orton becoming the seventh entrant isn't necessary to make the match a hit, but it could be a great piece of late drama.
And when you look at the six men who are already booked to appear, it's hard not to get excited.
Combined together, they bring a contrast of styles, wrestling ability and chemistry that suggests this match could be a thriller.
As for the winner, it's hard not to look past two people. Dean Ambrose has a great chance if WWE wants to press ahead with the possibility of a feud between all three members of The Shield, but Kevin Owens is the favorite.
He is well on his way to becoming WWE's top heel (if he isn't already), and with that briefcase under his arm, WWE has an exciting future.
Prediction: Kevin Owens
Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins
5 of 5WWE has an intriguing decision to make when it comes to the main event of Money in the Bank.
It's difficult to imagine either man cleanly losing, as Seth Rollins' first match back in the ring will not end in that fashion, and Roman Reigns is still in the middle of a huge push.
So how does everyone get out of Money in the Bank with enough momentum to ensure this feud continues at Battleground? The obvious answer is having an element of controversy thrown into the mix.
That could perhaps lead us to a double turn, especially if it is going to be Reigns who wins on the night.
He could cheat to win and enhance his status as a developing heel, with Rollins' road to becoming a babyface taking a big step forward in the process.
All in all, the signs point to a Reigns win, but how WWE executes the result will be fascinating.
Prediction: Roman Reigns
