Raheem Sterling Crowdfunding Page Set Up to Bring Star Home from Euro 2016
A flustered England fan has set up a fundraising page to raise money to bring Raheem Sterling back from the 2016 UEFA European Championship.
The Manchester City man has been a long way short of his best at the tournament and was hauled off at half-time as the Three Lions came from behind to beat Wales 2-1 on Thursday. It was enough to prompt one supporter, Aaron Bamford, into taking matters into his own hands.
“Let’s face it, we’re all sick of seeing this idiot mince down the wing and fail to deliver a half-decent ball into the box,” read part of the accompanying statement on his crowdfunding page, per Metro, in which he stated £200 will be enough to get the player back from France. “We’ll bring the lad home and then we can all stop cringing every time a gust of wind knocks him over.”

Bleacher Report UK posted the following on Twitter summing up the falling stock of the England starlet:
Sterling performed in flashes for City last season after making a big money move from Liverpool, although losses in form and fitness have prompted doubts over whether he is worth what could amount to £49 million for his signature.

For England his performances have been poor, although it’s clear manager Roy Hodgson sees Sterling as a key man; there are no other natural wide players for the Three Lions boss to call upon in his entire squad of 23, meaning the 21-year-old will most likely continue to play a part at the tournament.
As noted by Metro, it’s stated on the page that any funds raised will be passed on to the Douglas MacMillan Hospice charity.
